Great quality decals can be made from this paper.
Good product when you use it with the water the decal is strong very hard to tear unless you leave it in the water too long or it’ll it is long and narrow. Definitely worth the value very high quality after the paper is treated with Rustoleum 2x Ultra Cover Gloss clear. It works just like a decal that you would get in a car model kit, maybe even better. When the stickiness is needed it works great. Fairly easy to use again it does need to be treated with some sort of clear coating. I used it on one of my big car model products and it is sticking very well so far have now issues. It’s very transparent to use and simple functionality. This was the first time I ever made my own decals and I couldn’t be any happier.

10/10 reccomend!!!
10/10!! I know people use water decal for all kinda of projects, but I used it to make nail stickers! I thought it would be fun to make stickers of my dog Bridget LOL! They came out really good! I am sure they could have came out more pigmented, but I blame that on my printer. Picture quality is really good overall and the gloss is very nice. Highly recommend !

Works with Tamiya TS Clear and Mirco Sol
Ease of use is dependent upon your skill level and the final result is also dependent upon the quality of your digital media. Preparation of the decal for transfer is critical for a successful outcome. I used Tamiya TS Spray Clear to seal the ink which worked very well with the decal. I started with 3 very lite (dust coats) before applying 2 heavier final coats. Micro Sol works very well with this decal film. Once you brush on Micro Sol, leave it alone to work. It is normal for the decal to potentially wrinkle or distort while in the curing process and many people make the mistake of trying to tamper with the decal as it is curing. The decal will even-out once the decal sets and dries in most cases. You may need to add another coat or 2 of Micro Sol, especially when dealing with complex curves. The end result hid the edges and gave a painted-on look for a vibrant, crisp outcome. The decal thickness is just right, making the transfer easy. I had no issue with printer compatibility with my HP Inkjet Printer. Care must be taken during transfer so allow yourself a few minutes to let the water absorb into the decal backing before transferring keeping the decal as close to the subject matter as possible to avoid trapping air under the decal. This decal paper slid off the backing with plenty of adhesion. Do not over-soak your decals. I recommend using a little hand spray-pump from any dollar store to apply water to the decal. Adding a small drop of dish-washing liquid to the water is also recommended. A final coat of an appropriate sealant will seal the deal. Good luck and have fun.

Worked great for what I used it for! It worked exactly like it said it would!
It was my first time using waterslide decal, and I put them on artificial roses! I did have to add some UV resin over it, but I love the way they worked! Can’t wait to try it on different things!

Very thin, requires spraying clear coat before attempting to transfer
This material is very thin, which can be good or bad depending on your use case. As others have pointed out, requires spraying with an acrylic clear coat or the ink smears or comes right off. I'm making guitar headstock art which will be under many coats of lacquer, so protected. It’s inexpensive, but doesn’t include the extra cost of having to clear coat. Other products have a watermark on the non-printing side to help you out. I wasted some material trying to transfer the first time without clear coating. The decal shrivels up and becomes unusable quickly. But it works fine after clear coating.

Prints clean and turns your ideas into real decals
This paper does not argue with your printer or pretend it is out of ink when it is not. It prints sharp, the colors come out clean, and the white backing makes designs pop on dark surfaces. The decals release easily in water and slide into place without tearing. Once sealed, they look professional and hold up well. If you like making your own custom decals, this paper makes the process smooth instead of frustrating.

Clean Inkjet Prints and Smooth Transfer — Seal Before Soaking
My wife used this 20-sheet Inkjet Clear Waterslide Decal Paper (8.5x11") for custom craft projects and small decorative transfers. Printing: The sheets fed through an inkjet printer without jams. Colors printed sharp and clear. Since this is clear film, lighter colors depend on the background surface — white surfaces show designs best. Important Step: You must seal the printed sheet with a clear acrylic spray before soaking. Skipping this step can cause the ink to run. After sealing and drying, the ink stayed intact during transfer. Transfer Process: Once soaked briefly in water, the decal slid off the backing smoothly and positioned easily on glass and painted surfaces. It allows minor repositioning before fully setting. Final Finish: After drying and sealing, the decal looks clean and blends into the surface well. The film edge is thin and not overly noticeable once cured. Things to Know: – Inkjet only — not for laser printers. – Always spray seal before water immersion. – Best results on smooth, light-colored surfaces. Bottom Line: For custom decals and craft transfers, this paper performs well as long as you follow proper sealing steps. Good option for DIY projects.

Excellent, easy to use
After trying (and failing) at several other methods, I discovered this product for the recipe plates I was making. At first I was intimidated because it seemed like a lot of steps but the steps are all very simple and the plates turned out exactly as I wanted them to. Great adhesion and barely visible.

The clear film that forms the transfer is too thin and breaks up when trying to slide it off the backing

This water slide paper was very easy to use and apply. A few tips that I found through trial and error is that when I sealed with Krylon Crystal Clear acrylic spray glossy they turned out perfect everytime. I ran out of that and tried Rustoleum Clear and the colours ran. Then I tried Krylon clear matte spray and it worked but was very sensitive. I had a few rip while applying. Luckily I have found the Krylon Crystal Clear again and my decals are once again perfect. So my advice is that the paper is great, you just have to make sure you are using the right sealer for the decals.

[EDIT Aug/2025 - NO instructions included with first purchase so I printed my decal, immersed it in water but the image dissolved. Hence the reason for my 1 star originally. Seller subsequently contacted me and sent instructions. Have yet to try them out but will update review accordingly when I have spray varnish to coat my decal before wetting and applying to my model. [Edit] Aug 19/2025: I could not find "gloss oil" so bought a rattle can of Varathane Professional Clear Finish to seal the decal. The spray is very fine - no "blobbing, etc. It covered the decal sheet very nicely. I sprayed on 2 coats. I gave this product 4 stars because: As others have said, the decal film is VERY thin. Don't soak the decal too long - it will float itself off the backing sheet quite quickly. When one edge of my decal folded over on itself, I put the decal back in the warm water. I lifted it out of the water using the back sheet. I also used the backing sheet to smooth the decal and eliminate some of the water underneath the decal. The finished appearance looks good (I bought the SATIN finish hence the decal is not entirely clear). I've been a modeller for many decades so I am used to spending a lot of time to do something properly. You CANNOT rush applying decals using these decal sheet, but if you take your time, you can achieve a nice finished product. Time will tell as to how the decal stands up over time.
