sorta fun, but pretty limited; roster could have been WAY better!
I anticipated this game for months from when I first learned about it, and shelled out $50 for it. I don't really think this is a bad game, but I should have waited for the price to drop (which it has, but perhaps not quite enough, in my opinion).Actually, I HAVE had fun playing this game. I've mostly played 1-on-1 against my bro; we only played one Battle match with CPU characters (although how you select CPU ones seems kind of weird, or at least the way we found to do it), and having them did make it a little more interesting, at least to me, although it was a bit hard to keep up with all the action! We find playing against just each other to be easier to do (although if we had four controllers and could find one or two more humans to play with us, that would be cool --- probably better than playing against the CPU!). The Sports mode is neat; it's cool that the different types of balls have different physics! We tried to play in this mode against the CPU, but couldn't figure out how to assign CPU characters to different teams! (We'll probably figure it out eventually, or look it up!) However, whichever mode you play in, your options for moves are kind of limited; none of the characters seem to exactly have loads of them. (I do think it's cool that you can use the right stick to do moves instead of always having to press different buttons, though.) I find it a bit disappointing that there are (almost) no vocalizations from the characters (during matches or any other time). By the way, you can pick up balls and opponents simply by pressing R1; you don't have to press the X button too, as it says in the "How To Play" section. There are 20 different stages, all with their own quirks. Some are better and more fun to play in than others (if you're playing in Sports Mode, you may find that certain stages work better or worse for you for scoring goals). However, the thing that REALLY gets me about the game, more than anything else, is the roster. It does include some good characters, but it could (and should) have been so, SO much better; they could have put WAY more than 20 on here. The characters here (or most of them, anyway) are from "older," more "classic" Nick cartoon series. (Well, the couple of TMNT series on Nick are "later" ones, although I suppose the TMNT characters here could be considered "classic" cartoon characters --- they are even drawn more like in the cartoon series from around the early-to-mid-'90s!)However, I don't think any of the series "represented" here are represented by more than three characters (some are only represented by one), and I know of a number of "older" Nick series from which there are no characters at all. The most "disappointingly unrepresented" of those series (at least to me) are Rocko's Modern Life, The Adventures Of Jimmy Neutron, and The Fairly OddParents (there may be series I don't know about!). They could (and should) have at least included Rocko, Jimmy, and Timmy Turner (accompanied by Cosmo and Wanda, of course!) from those shows. It would also have been neat to see (from those same shows) Heffer, Filburt (maybe; not QUITE so sure about him!), Cindy Vortex, Sheen, Carl Wheezer, Mr. Crocker, Jorgen Von Strangle, and Vicky the evil babysitter! Plenty of characters from just those three series that I think would have been worthy of inclusion! It would even have been cool to see at least Dudley Puppy and Kitty Catswell from T.U.F.F. Puppy; sure, that show was a more "recent" one, but The Loud House is even more recent, and there are a couple of characters from THAT show! The series that ARE represented here are only represented by one to three characters, and thus are (at least in some cases) not represented particularly well. You only get TWO of the TMNT (Leo and Mikey); there IS a third TMNT character, and that is... April O'Neil (in her yellow jumpsuit-wearing news reporter form from the "early," non-Nick series). If the developers were going to deprive us of two Turtles (Don and Raph, as it is) but put in a third TMNT character, I would rather have had the Shredder. Wouldn't you? (Of course, it would have been much cooler to have all four Turtles AND Shredder!) The selection of Rugrats characters consists of... Reptar --- and NONE of the babies (despite the fact that there is a "Tommy Ball" on the game). I really think Angelica should have been here, if no other non-dinosaur Rugrats characters! There are 11 Loud kids on The Loud House, but here we get only two (Lincoln and Lucy); 11 may have been too many to include here, but they could at least have also included Lynn (Jr., that is), who I think would have been a perfect candidate for this type of game, especially with the Sports mode. (As it is, they have her popping up in the background of one stage.) The only character from the Danny Phantom series is Danny; they should also have included Samantha Manson, at least. Possibly the strangest thing about the roster is that Helga from Hey Arnold is here, but Arnold --- the title character --- is NOT! The SpongeBob series is actually represented pretty well, with SB, Patrick, and Sandy, but it would have been neat to have Squidward as well! If the developers could come up with ways to include certain ones of the characters that ARE here (e.g. April O'Neil and Nigel Thornberry), they could have figured out ways to include the missing ones I named above (and others besides)! I'm sure that other people could name some personal favorites that I didn't mention! Also, more characters from more series would have made it possible to include more stages! I don't think there are any unlockables on this game, although I guess it's possible that I could be wrong...I apologize for spending so much time on just one aspect of the game (the roster), but for me that's a pretty major issue. I do think this is a sorta fun game, but it's pretty limited overall. I have no real problems with how it actually plays.

Smash Bros. Meets the Nicktoons - A Brawling Good Time
As a long-time fan of Nickelodeon shows, I was thrilled to hear about the release of "Nickelodeon All Star Brawl" for the PlayStation 4. As a fan of the Super Smash Bros. franchise, I was even more excited to see how the game would play out. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The game features a variety of beloved characters from classic Nicktoons, such as SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and even Ren and Stimpy. The characters are all true to their personalities and animations, making it feel like you're playing an episode of your favorite show. The attention to detail is impressive, and the graphics are top-notch.But the real star of the show is the gameplay. The mechanics are easy to pick up, but there's enough depth to keep it interesting. The stages are diverse and incorporate elements from the different shows. The power-ups and items add a layer of strategy to the brawls, and the final smash-like ultimate moves are a blast to use.The single-player mode has a decent amount of content, but the real fun comes from playing with friends. The local multiplayer mode is a blast, and the online mode runs smoothly.Overall, "Nickelodeon All Star Brawl" is a great addition to the fighting game genre, and an absolute must-have for any Nickelodeon fan. It's a brawling good time that will have you and your friends shouting catchphrases and reminiscing about the good old days of Nicktoons. So grab your controller, get ready to brawl, and remember, "I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready!"

Son doesn't love it
I got this for my son's birthday, but he doesn't really love it. He says it is just Smash Brothers with the Nickelodeon characters. I thought he would like that it was characters he watched on tv, but he really wasn't that interested in it. If you have Smash Brothers, I would pass on this.

Played for 5 minutes
This game feels very clunky. I wanted to just play a fighting game with my brother but this game was so boring and uninspired.
