Long review ahead.
This book is also extremely repetitive. The writing is so juvenile and all over the place that it’s beyond cringe worthy. The switch in POV can’t even be enjoyed because there is zero change. The author didn’t change the writing style, the way the characters thought, or the ridiculous inner monologue ramblings.Callie is the weakest, dumbest, and most dramatic FMC I’ve ever had the displeasure of suffering through. She does nothing but yammer and whine about how heartbroken she was over a dude that she kind of sort of knew for three months, then held onto mild drama for over two years.THEN, he comes back into her life and does nothing but insult her, call her names, and makes fun of her for loving him, for over HALF of this book.Still, she instantly lusts, pines, and chases after Reed the first chance she gets when he reappears and continues to do so.Gross.This hateful attitude and mean spirited words continues for over 80% of the book.I seriously wish I never would have read this.Callie’s brother, Conrad, raised her on his own since she was four, he’s basically her parent, and he held a grudge and talked to her like crap for two years over one mistake. How unrealistic. The lack of descriptive details just blows my mind, we’ve got no idea how tall anyone is, we’ve got hardly anything in order to paint a visual of what anyone looks like and I can honestly say that I won’t ever read anything from this author again.10/10 would not recommend.

An Epic Story
Read the Prequel Novella: THE WILD MUSTANG & THE DANCING FAIRY before starting A GORGEOUS VILLIAN. This is the complete story of Reed (Roman) Jackson & Callie (Calliope) (Fae) (Dancing Fairy) Thorne! Both are included in this edition!Reed is called a villain or a hero, however you want to place him. He is both by the end of the book. He is gorgeous! He has beautiful gray eyes that sometimes glow in the dark. Some people call them wolf eyes. His skin looks like priceless marble. So some people say he has vampire skin. They also say he has dark magic running through his veins. If a girl so much as looks into his pretty wolf eyes, she can't help herself from falling for him. She is going to get her heartbroken. He is a heart-breaker. People say he doesn't even have a heart or if he does it is pitch black. Wild Mustang is his soccer nickname. He is among those in the top on my Book Alpha Male Bad Boys List.Callie is a sweet innocent good girl. Since her dad left and her mom passed away, she has been raised by four older and overprotective brothers. Callie has lived such a sheltered life that she is sweet sixteen and never been kissed. So it is simple to say she is still a virgin. So she naively takes her first step into trouble, when she lies to those overprotective brothers, and goes to one of Reed's wild parties. She attends with Reed's younger sister named Tempest. Her being at his party brought the attention of Reed right to her. There was the sister of his arch soccer enemy standing right in front of him. The Thorn Ballerina Princess. What did he want from her? For her to dance just for him. She agreed to dance for him alone. She'd dance for him as long has he'd wanted. Because she became his Fae, the dancing fairy and he was her Roman, the Wild Mustang. Her brothers had warned her to stay away from him. That he was the worst, and the biggest villain. Apparently she didn't listen, and she learned her first heartbreaking lesson in love. She also learned that revenge isn't sweet. Or not to drive someone's loved Mustang into a lake. Trouble like that will get you sent to St. Mary's School for Troubled Teenager's. Two years pass when the reason why she did what she did and why she ended up at St. Mary's is standing right in front of her. She had seen him as soon as she had entered the bar. The Sight of Reed Roman Jackson! Their turbulent story continues, and what a story it is! Start reading today!

Ugh....
This author has a gift but it became lost (at least for me) in this story. My biggest hangup is the ages of the individuals and their thoughts and actions. I seriously doubt 16 to 18 year olds have such complex thought processes and actions. They just don't. They are kids. So, to me, it's incredibly unrealistic to assign the characters and place them in plots wherein it would be appropriate for more worldly, mature, individuals to act, communicate or control themselves. This book, with the exception of the adult sexual scenes belongs on the teen bookshelf. Despite my best efforts l, I could not progress beyond 35% and I, unfortunately, will be removing this author from my "following" and purchase list. If Ms. Kent could place her talent and time in a true adult novel, I would and will be willing to return to reading her work.

Didn’t want it to end & already want to re-read
What an amazing book! Saffron A. Kent blew me away. I am so in love with the characters and their story. I didn’t want this book to end and I already want to re-read it.If you’ve read The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy (the prequel novella) you’ve got some idea of the tension that Saffron has created between these characters. That is nothing on the what she does with a whole book’s worth. I was obsessed. This was a beautifully written and remarkable second chance at love story full of passion, pain, forgiveness, and growth. It made for an addicting angsty slow burn that I could not put down.Reed is a seductive and cavalier hero who has the ability to sweep both Callie and readers off their feet. His can quickly and seamlessly turn things dirty with just a look or a few words and can rile Callie up like no one before him. It’s hard not to be enticed by him but as we learn more about him and his past and see his actions in the book it becomes impossible not to fall for the man we see. He redeems himself in both Callie and the readers’ eyes without realising it. Callie is feisty and fierce when it comes to Reed as she carries the hurt from the past. Though we also see this soft, sweet, and caring side to her when it comes to her family and friends which made for a great character. When Reed walks back into Callie’s life, he steps into a protective role due to his drive to keep her safe, the reason for which might be unknown to him but is certainly known by readers. This clashes with Callie’s feistiness created by their past and the resulting chemistry is explosive. You’ll quickly see that Reed and Callie have repeatedly and continue to make one another angry and mad they also hurt each other but it is so full of held back passion you cannot get enough of watching to see when that passion is going to implode. These two have a very intense and intimate relationship that the world (both outside of them in the book and the real world) fades into the background when they interact. Their tumultuous relationship for the first part of the book (including the prequel) is raw, intimate and dirty but when they give into the desire and come out on the other side it is pure delight for those of us wishing for them to finally be together. The later part of the book has many sweet and precious moments that often come with a pregnancy storyline, but Reed slowly falling in love with, connecting with, and naming his child? It truly melts the heart. Things don’t suddenly become easy for Callie and Reed in this part of the story either with some growth left to be done and some hurdles in the way, the path to an HEA remains bumpy but together they get there. There were a few things I struggled with in this book, all of it concerning some of the language used by the characters/Saffron, and whilst it made me pause and recoil a bit in the moment it didn’t deter from my overall enjoyment of this book.I’m so happy Callie and Reed’s story is finally in readers hands and we get to enjoy it. Like I said it was amazing. The secondary characters were also great; I cannot wait for Wyn’s book and for more of the Thorne brothers (fingers crossed their own books are on the horizon).

Five surprising stars
Oh lordy lordy, where do I begin with this one?! I am NOT a fan of the surprise pregnancy trope; no siree!!! And I knew from the end of My Darling Arrow that Callie, our FMC was in fact pregnant. I had also seen several lacklustre reviews about it and despite how I know - I KNOW - SAK writes amazing indie fiction, I let the pregnancy thing put me off. I received an early read copy of the third book in the St Mary's series, These Thorn Kisses, and I know I *could* have read that without having read this one but I said let's just do it. I had the time so why not give it a chance since I'd already bought it on release day!!!And within the first chapter I was hoooooooooooked!! Oh. My. Lord. Reed Roman Jackson - you, sir. You are baaaaad!! Such a nuanced character; I loved him. I particularly loved the chapters from his POV. Wow - who doesn't love a broken hero who has perfected the art of a$$holism?! He was my catnip. And I couldn't get enough of him - though initially I was like - how on earth is this guy redeemable?! Like, serious question folks. He did our girl Callie so so wrong. But I fell hook line and sinker!!Callie was a beautiful soul. I loved her family and am so glad I have read what is laying the foundations for the next series by SAK cause I have fallen for some of these guys already - and girls, cause these people are so well fleshed out it's already impossible to not feel for them and want them to get what they deserve. The pregnancy trope is actually so well done. I really loved how the couple evolved during the uncertainty and their relationship moved in the right direction very organically which is very oftentimes lacking in this trope. The best, and I mean the VERY BEST, thing about this series is this foursome of girls. I love them individually and together they make such an awesome group. I can't wait to read all SAK has to offer. Trope stigma or not, this reader now knows SAK does no wrong!!

Callie and Reed, mixed feelings
3.5 StarsThe prequel left me wondering if Reed could ever redeem himself. I felt like Callie was too sweet for him, naive and recovering from her broken heart. Reed is her villain and although we find out the reason behind that I don't feel it explains his treatment of Callie.I did love the protectiveness of her brothers and the friendships she made at school and with Tempest. I loved the character of Pete and I would have loved more of him I thought his impact on them could have been a bigger focus. The scenes with Reed and the baby/pregnancy were really sweet.I did find the sex scenes a bit much.

Oh my
This is one of the best books I’ve read this year. Amazing. I have never read a book which I could feel every emotion flowing off the pages. This authors writing is exquisite. The sexual tension…just wow. Loved the story, loved the characters. Reed was what you call a freaking alpha. Callie could have had 10 brothers, no f**** given. I knew he loved her way before the party. Callie was a bit naive or so you thought but she actually is really smart and determined. Great book. Would so recommend.
