Reasonably accurate hole placement. Easy to use.

The strengths: it's a surprisingly solid piece of kit, that can get really good results.The weakness: the sef-centering is really not effectiveThe solution: tape some shims in place to keep the drill guides centred.In short, it's not great when used right out the box. Yes, the centre of the guide is centred, but the bar displaces diagonally, so the guides are off centre. But, with a bit of ingenuity, it's great. If they sold it with clip-on shims, to keep the drill bar centred, it would be superb.Ultimately, it's far better than other cheap solutions, and gave really good results with a mini-mod

It's a fairly well made tool - at least the replacement one is. I had to send the 1st one back as none of the threaded bushes could be screwed more than about 1.5 turns into the block.So I had to put my project on hold while I ordered another one and sent it back.I'm glad I decided to give them a 2nd chance as the replacement seems good enough one first inspection.The self centring appears to be a little bit off as there is some play in both fixed threads. Also the ball which centres the block to the groove in the middle of the lead screw is rusty and I has 2 flat regions at the poles.So it's not perfect - but it should be good enough for purpose.It is a shame - with a little more care and attention to detail it could have been excellent.

I am honestly delighted with this doweling jig, it really is excellent.

Not accurate out of the box. Cheap ball bearing under the grub screw that was more oval shaped than round. Overall, with a lot of tweaking, it is now usable.

This one labelled as Katsu but identical from same Chinese manufacturing facility.Firstly only 2 of the six supplies inserts actually fit into the tool and one arrived already broken.Secondly the 2 sides are off centre so good luck trying to line up holes.Of course instructions useless.If you require true accuracy in your work you will not get it with this group of tools.Don't like me be fooled into thinking somethingsfe out of heavy gauge metal Willbe good, the inserts are low grade sli and the overall engineering is appalling.I see these jigs all over Amazon's search results ranging from £19.99 to almost £50.Do not be conned, all of these are the same exactly and completely useless for truly accurate work and clearly mass produced at the same Chinese chuck em out factory.
