The Vivaldi Cipher (Vatican Secret Archive Thrillers)

Very entertaining
I enjoyed this read. A good mystery, and really enjoyed the authors ability to create very interesting "characters" out of Venice, the art world, and the Vatican by mixing fact and fiction.

The Vivaldi Cipher
Father Dominic and Hana Sinclair are off to Venice and find themselves caught up in an art forgery scandal. The forgeries are found to be part of the Vatican archives and seem to be connected to the Italian mob. It’s a wild ride and of course the Swiss Girard are part of the force running down the criminals. My only frustration with the story is how the professional body guards and soldiers neglect to look for cameras during their ops, let people be kidnapped and give up their guns without question. Otherwise The Vivaldi Cipher is a decent story with lots of action.

enlightening take on the Catholic Church
First time I’ve read this author. McAvoy is enthralled with an overly opulent lifestyle, name checking expensive wines and unnecessarily describing food that is inaccessible to most people in the world. And always with the beautiful people descriptions. Ugh. No more McAvoy for me.

Great Read
If you like history, adventure and exotic locals this is the book for you. The writer never stops the action and the characters lead you on a merry chase. I do like the fact that Marco and Hana are together. Please don’t rip them apart!

A fast paced thriller with enough twists and turns to keep you readingns
I love reading books with historical fiction angles and this was a quick, easy read with intrigue, action and plot twists and history abounding. My only complaint is that Father Dominic is featured in several books that follow in this series and 3 that are part of a prior series snd now I am going to have to buy them all! Guess I know what I'll be reading for a while.Great book Gary. Looking forward to the next one.

Riveting from page 1 ...
Involved, articulate and obviously well researched. The reader is slowly enmeshed in the complexity of the story, the balance of facts, dates and location all adds to a throughly good read.Enjoy the intrigue

Adventure in Venice
What a great book. Having been a Clive Cussler fan for quite a while now I was looking for something a little different but still as adventurous and boy did this hit the mark. I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.
