The book comprises a series of eight carefully scripted short plays, some comic, others moving and thought provoking, covering such topics as the effects of war and society’s readiness to rush to assumption and judgement. The author displays an understanding of different writing forms and deftly captures each style and genre within its’ historical narrative, ranging from the First World War to the present day. The variety of stories ensures there will be something of interest for everyone and I believe it will also provide a useful tool for students of play writing. Thoroughly recommended.

Very good, an excellent mix of plays, I especially liked The Battle of Barking Creek and went to listen and enjoy Dulce Et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori on The Wireless Theatre Company.
