Very happy
Got these in 25mm and they are great. Very supple for the width. The rubber is extra thick and I haven't gotten any flats yet in a month of riding. I chose these tires because I was coming from some decent maxxis kevlar lined tires which rode great and prevented alot of flats. So I wanted durability but at a cheaper price since I'm just commuting on these.Well those maxxis tires are $60-70 while these are like $25. I've been pleasantly surprised at how good these ride. They roll smooth and have more grip than the maxxis tires but are a bit heavier. I've also owned gatorskins as well and marathons too. Imo gatorskins are great tires but don't last because the sidewalls decay while the marathons are incredibly heavy and don't roll too well. Both of the above tires retail for over $50 a piece.Save some money and try these thick slicks.

Using on Indoor Trainer but 'road ready' too!
I started using an Indoor trainer with my mountain bike - the tread on mountain bike tires makes it necessary to wear industrial grade ear muffs while working out! I looked at tires specifically 'designed' for indoor trainers but the idea of having to either continually swap the tire (if riding outside with the kids -which you can't do with the 'designed' tires- or training) or buying another rear wheel seemed wrong, time consuming and likely to create another excuse for not riding.Enter the ThickSlick - silent on the trainer and 'road ready' too! Problem solved!

Best tires I've ever used
This is now the second pair of these tires that I have purchased. Let me tell you about the THAT pair. The first pair lasted thousands of miles of commuting and messenger duty. The front tire never went flat even after some of the nastiest cuts and gouges I've ever seen in a tire. The rear tire was squared to hell when it went flat after I hit a smashed beer bottle. That was the only flat I had with them and I'm estimating at least 5000 miles of use.Not only are they reliable, the handling and roll you get from this tire are incomparable. WTB has made me a lifelong customer with these. Only negative I can think of is passersby asking if your tires "are supposed to be 'bald' like that". Gets kinda tedious explaining the difference between tires that are "bald" and "slick" but whatever. If you ride a 29er for street use, just buy them you won't regret it. Be sure you get K-guards though, I tried using the Comps and got a pin flat within a week.

Heavy and Wear Quickly, but "Stick" to the Road and Look Good
The streets in the city I live in are in complete disrepair. So much so, that the residents have begun celebrating birthdays and holidays with their neighborhood potholes often adorning them with garland, banners, and hats to mark the occasion. It has gotten so bad that there are now groups of pothole vigilantes that go around "illegally" filling in potholes to save the wheels of the uninitiated people that unluckily venture down their street. This factored into my decision making when I decided to put together a bike for my daily commute to work. I wanted a wide tire to give me a good contact patch with the road, a "sticky" tire that would keep me from sliding in corners that had potholes that were haphazardly filled with gravel by the city, and a tire that could take a beating if I accidentally had to run over a pothole. These tires checked all of those boxes, but what I did not consider were the trade offs for what I thought I wanted the tires to do. Because these tires are wider and have the flat guard protection they are very heavy. Very very very heavy. It is a struggle getting up some of the longer hills that I have to climb and I am normally really good at climbing hills on a bike, I would say climbing is normally my specialty (I mountain bike and road bike regularly). The other issue with these tires is that they wear rather quickly when compared to my Continental GP 4000s ii tires or my set of tires on my mountain bike. Granted those tires are build for different purposes, but after ~100 miles on the Thickslicks they have started to go from a rounded shape to a more square one. The last negative thing about these tires is that because of the reinforced sidewall, they are the hardest tires I have ever installed on a wheel. With all that said, these tires look freakin' good with the wide profile and the large white lettering. Best of all, I have yet to get a flat with them despite riding on some very sketchy roads that I would not dare take my car down.

Great tires!
These tires roll smooth as butter! During installation I could definitely tell they were thicker than normal tires around the middle section of the "tread" that contacts the road. Some pictures of these tires on the internet show a very small checkered tread pattern when I was doing my research. The pictures on Amazon showed them as slicks and that's exactly how they arrived, there's no tread pattern at all, they're just like slick racing tires. I got them for commuting duty to try to stop the onslaught of puncture flats with other tires that were supposed to be puncture-resistant (plus I had added thorn-resistant tubes and tire liners as flats continued). If drivers would stop tossing garbage and glass bottles and all manner of debris out their windows in the first place... it's unbelievable what collects on the side of the road and in bike lanes. I have not yet used these in wet or rainy conditions yet where the lack of tread may pose a traction problem, but that issue is not verified by me.
