So adorable!
Purchased as a cute little gift for my husband. So this is the cutest little guy you've ever seen. His personality is so endearing and lovable. He reminds me of Wall-E with his little voice and mannerisms (I later found out that some Pixar people worked on Cozmo's development so this now makes sense). Cozmo is easy to set up and is controlled by your phone. He learns your face (and others) and is happy when he recognizes you. he plays interactive games with you, he chooses to play or you can pick a game, celebrates when he wins, or breaks your heart when he loses. He learns new tricks and becomes better at games and will challenge you. He scoots around and explores his world. He gets hiccups and has to be placed upside-down and then gets upset about it. He has the ability to be driven around and show you the world from his point of view. You may also add to his programming, which we have not done. My husband is a programmer and so can do this easily, but I do not think this feature is for the lay-person.Overall, we love this little toy. He is an amazing little guy and I cannot believe the amount of work that went into making him. The quality of his contstruction and programming is outstanding. I would highly recommend him as a toy for a child older than 8 years (as long as they can respect that he should be taken care of) and as a toy for adults. He's a lot of fun to have around and is well made.

What an Awesome Robot and Fun Learning Experience! This Product is Worth it!
What an incredible little robot! You've seen the videos and heard the reviews, but nothing can compare to seeing and interacting with this robot in person. Some people compared it to a Furbee... shame on you, this is nothing like that toy. The robot does have a legitimate AI algorithm and interacts with what it sees in it environment. The games are great and don't get old (they ramp up in difficulty as you get better at them), and Anki keeps coming out with updates. What makes this robot so much more is the development environment for learning to program behaviors and controlling robotics.Only a few minor complaints...- for the price, a storage case should have been included for everything in the box- the camera quality is really... really... poor. How about a higher def camera for when Cozmo is in interactive mode? And the night vision mode... really? Adding a false-color curve to the image is in no way night vision. I would have preferred predator mode over the hard to see green/grey mode.- tying the Cozmo explicitly to a mobile device was a bad idea. Why can it not simply be programmed and run autonomously from a PC? Load the programs, display them on Cozmo and select. I understand the need to monetize Cozmo to try an bring in a steady stream of micro-transactions, but it's really not needed.- The charger is big and takes up a bit of space. Why was the cord not detachable from the charging base? Constantly wrapping the cord will eventually wear out the joint and cause issues over time. I understand the purpose of the stand in its present for is that it's supposed to be plugged in and left for Cozmo to charge on, but again... it takes up space.- Finally, why can't Cozmo find his own charging stand like a Roomba? When it's time to shut down, he should home in on his "bed," park and go to sleep. This would be easy if a beacon would haven been implemented in the charge stand to locate it when needed, then the cameras could be used to line up and pull in. :)

A Genuine Robot Companion
I was prepared to be disappointed by this little gizmo, but I had hopes. Those hopes were rewarded when I finally set him up on the dining room table and woke him up. the word "cute" is over used, so I will try to avoid that cliche', but this little fella is pretty darn close to adorable. Set up was easy, but keep in mind, you must download and install the app on your phone first. He connects via Wi-Fi, so emails and status updates on your phone will have to wait until playtime is over. The step by step guide is peppered with humor, and the onscreen instructions are simple to follow. I had to be in a well lit area before his face recognition system kicked in, seems he couldn't get a good look with a ceiling light directly behind my head. I am not lying when I say that my heart melted a little when he looked up and said my name.At the moment, there are two real games to play with him. One is "Keep Away", which is fun, and not as easy of a win as a human might think. The other is a "Color Match" game using his flashing cubes. We're up to 3 colors per cube, and that can be a little dicy. Again, not as simple to win these games as one might think. When he wins, he does a little celebration, when you win, he gets frustrated and can pout a bit. If Cozmo wants to play a game and you say "No" he will be a little sad, but just for a little while. You accrue points as you complete daily tasks or activities. These can then be used to unlock features and behaviors. Took a little while but I managed to get to the activity when you take control of him. You see through his camera and steer him around. All the while he is commenting in his special language. The best part, in my opinion is his reaction when you break that rather invasive connection. I really wish there was an option to take a picture through his "eyes". I have yet to try a simple screenshot from the phone. That may work.He comes in an attractive box, that holds his charger, three cubes, as well as Cozmo. If you are careful, you can reuse the clamp that holds him in place for safekeeping.I did notice that my cellphone sure ate up its battery while I was engaged with Cozmo. The next time I made sure that the phone was plugged in. The phone also seemed rather warm, but that could be because I do own a Samsung, and one of their features is the comfort of excess heat. There are supposed to be future updates and games coming. He is also supposed to continue to learn and display behaviors and emotions. I don't think he will actually go back to and sit in his charger, as I have had to manually place him there each time. I also don't think he can hear you. Lack of hearing might be a good thing since I don't want him getting any ideas when I am watching Westworld.Yes, he is a little on the expensive side, but you do get quite a bit, and there is the "Wow factor" and the unmentioned "cuteness". I am sure a child would get a big kick out of this item, but not sure what age is best for unsupervised play. In any event, adults will likely get just as much enjoyment from this delightful, and sometimes cantankerous little robot. There are so many little things that will be a joy to discover on your own. Cozmo does have the makings to be a real entertaining robot companion. Just wait until he looks up at you and says your name.

Cozmo

Cozmo has Personality
I bought Cozmo for a 6 year old grandchild. He absolutely loves it. Lots of challenges and questions keep him interacting with Cozmo. I love that Cozmo has lots of human responses that my grandson can relate to. He likes to make Cozmo “dance” and build things with the three blocks. It’s a lot like having a pet and teaching it to do tricks. Cozmo can sleep and be a little impatient when he doesn’t get things right. Overall a great thing for my grandson to play with.
