Tiny Arcade Mappy, Multi

I thought to try the Mappy mini cabinet. I've collected miniature non-functional cabinets in the past, so I thought a working mini cabinet could be worth a try!Alas, to call this "working" would be very generous. The unit comes shipped in "demo mode", which was itself bugged. The screen would flash when it got to the gameplay and come back to the title screen. I tried starting a game, but it would make a sound and never start. I tried turning the unit off and on to no avail. I then pulled a battery out, after turning it off, to fully reset it, at which point I could then start a game. But only start. The game would FREQUENTLY reset back to the title screen mid gameplay, and I was never even able to finish the first level.At only $18, I'd consider keeping it just to display on the shelf, as I love the game Mappy. Even then, the mini cabinet isn't even accurate to the actual arcade cabinet. The control board, the cabinet itself, the marquee, and the side artwork are all different from the original arcade cabinet.This is trying to capitalize on nostalgia, and if it worked, that might be enough. It doesn't, however, and though I may have just gotten a bad unit, I suspect based on the low price, I just shouldn't have expected much. I'm returning it and I won't be replacing it.

yep, it's a tiny screen. Yep, have to wear my glasses to play it. Yep, I have immense fun doing so! I think I have all of these and now have the new ones for this batch. Mappy works so well for this size. Love it. If this were me as a kid in the arcade I would've easily have pumped more quarters into the game already than what I paid for this. Love these.

Great look , plays well even though it’s a little easy. No real volume control but Makes a cool gift for any fan of the game.

They are such a fun novelty. They are pretty accurate replications, if not the exact ROMs from the arcade.

The arcade keeps restarting a few seconds after starting a game.
