Q: Will this hold a 24x36 poster frame?

We used this for a poster mounted on foam core. The arms where the poster rests has slots that were just wide enough for the foam core if spread to the side. That helped to keep the poster stationary. If you have something fatter, it can rest on the inside edge of the arms and the weight will probably hold it pretty steady. If you look at the arms close up, you can probably see what I mean.

Q: How deep is this when fully opened?

about 12 - 14 inches. this is great for tabletop signage. - fits nicely in the corner of a standard 6 foot table

16 bu 20...from my experience. They fall if too much weight.
