Bought this as a gift for the boyfriend for christmas. Although, like many other reviews, it took a while for him to get the flying down, he still had a ton of fun battling the death star. And yes, the battery doesn't last very long, but that is what to expect with such a lightweight and small device.

Why am I forced to give this rating 1 star? Should be zero star or minus stars.From the outset things looked good. Everything in package looked as described. Unpacked everything and looked it all over; both ships looked and felt exactly as I thought small drones of this type would. Read the instructions and charged both the X-Wing and Deathstar; batteries installed in the remote. Everything still looked good.Turned them on, lights and sounds indicate all paired; so let's fly - what a piece of xxxx. The only thing that appears to fly ok is the automated Deathstar. It hovers around and moves a bit just like that demo video shows. But this is a drone toy, which is meant to be piloted so let's get to the X-Wing. As a drone, the X-Wing is just awful in the air (remember it still looks good though).First of all, getting it off the ground is ridiculously stupid; it front flips on its back, and then it back flips on its back, then again it might spin like a top just wanting to get off the ground. On the occasions it does create sufficient lift to get off the ground you run into the second biggest problem. This drone is 99.99% uncontrollable in the air. The 0.1% is the fact that you can kill power to the rotors so it will come down. I watched the demo video again as that kid smoothly moved the X-Wing around; not a chance in reality. This thing has a mind of its own, no amount of adjustment with the buttons on the controller is going to change that. It is totally unusable in the manner advertised and described. Huge disappointment, it's being repackaged and returned; and I guarantee it will look great again in the package. But the looks in the package do nothing for me now to make up for the huge disappointment.

Tough to get going and really tough for the kids to get it going- but when you do it's pretty fun. This is our first drone and while we are not converts to the droning just yet it kept the kids attention for about a half hour which is pretty good for a complicated toy like this. I wouldn't say this is in the same category as real drones- but it looks pretty cool and flies pretty well in my opinion. But as I said, I'm a drone newbie so I don't have much to measure it against. Controls took some time getting used to but once you do you'll be flying in no time. Good for your first drone. Not sure I'll get a second as I don't see what all the hype is about. But for twenty bucks it was worth it.

Gave this to a grandson for Christmas. It's pretty cool. He is 11 and had it working in minutes, if that. He is really enjoying it. The Death Star hovers great and the drone flies really well. He definietly was able to do 'battle'.

Although the reviews were mixed, I saw some really fun-looking videos of this product on YouTube so I thought I would give it a chance. It arrived today, and I was a little shocked to find that the packaging was all beat up, and it had a Target clearance sticker on it! Right out of the box the Death Star was smashed, so I couldn't even test that at all. After charging the X-Wing and putting batteries in the remote I tried for an hour to fly the RC X-Wing Drone, to no avail. I read the instructions on what to do if it's drifting (push a button), or spinning (push a button) - nothing worked, it just flew crazily all over the place until it finally broke a propeller and I decided just to return it (I would have returned it anyway, since the Death Star was smashed, but I might have replaced with another if it had worked as advertised). Take my advice and steer (ha) clear of this. Not sure how the other Air Hogs products are, but this one was pure frustration.

The X-Wing drone itself is worth the price. It flies and controls very well and looks cool. I've been flying drones professionally for awhile now and like to dabble with little ones for my grandson. I kept this for myself until he's older, since he would just destroy it at this point. I've gone through two of these to see if the Death Star worked better, and it really is about the same. It doesn't stay aloft very long and tends to wander all over the room. If you live in a gymnasium, that would be just fine... but it's nearly impossible to use unless the room has a high ceiling and no furniture. And it cannot be used outside, unless there is zero wind, which almost never happens. Great idea, cool sound effects, and it might be fun if I ever get a chance to try it in a giant open indoor area.

First of all the price I paid was amazing. Hopefully the price is still down. Everything flies easily and it's super cute for a Star Wars fan.

No se si la altura con respecto al nivel del mar le afecte, no logre que se elevara mas de 30 cm del suelo, cargándolos completamente, utilizando baterías alcalinas y no recargables como se recomienda, estuve varios días calibrándolo, y después de una semana me rendí. Como fan de Star Wars es un articulo genial, pero al no ser funcional para mi lo devolvi

Rápidamente se descompuso y no hay ayuda para repararlo ya no volo así que no lo recomiendo la verdad gracias
