New Balance Women's Fresh Foam Crag Trail V1 Sneaker

I wanted to find a hiking shoe (not boot) that was lightweight and came in a wide width - there aren't very many out there. This shoe was on sale, and I noticed that it DID come in W, so was able to order the size I like (6.5 W). It is great looking, super comfortable and lightweight and certainly appears to have a durable tread for hiking. I didn't realize when I ordered that it has a "sock" opening - in other words, no tongue and separation to the sides - just a large opening for the foot to slide in. While that is a great feature for hiking (sometimes in regular hiking shoes, the tongue can slip sideways, or grass seeds can make their way through the shoe opening) it is a little harder to get my "wide" foot inside. Still - I love them, and was able to wear them for walking immediately - no need for a "break-in" period. Fabulous shoes!!

I was a little put off by other reviews and worried I wouldn’t be able to get these sneakers on easily but I found these sneakers true to size, easy to slide on and very comfortable. I wear a 9.5 in casual shoes (booties, sandals, casual sneakers) but wear a 10 in sneakers I exercise in. I ordered a 10 and they fit like a glove, no problem!The N has a bit of reflectiveness to it. The colors are nice. Have worn them around Chicago without problem but also for day hikes/walks in Europe!

I love the colors & style of this shoe. So much so this is the 2nd pair. The 1st I ordered in my size (7). After reading reviews majority stating fit true to size. Well this was not the case for me. They were much bigger in width & oddly pushed my foot forward scrunching my toes & leaving a slight gap @ the heel. Also majority reviews claimed hard to get heal in. This in fact is TRUE.There is no tongue in these shoes which is a strange thing as I instinctively try to loosen laces and adjust tongue to get my foot in. Well this can not be done & def a lil struggle to get over heel.I returned that pair & chose get a 6.5. once on they are very comfortable. If your foot is narrow you might consider a half size down. Either way, the struggle w/ getting heel in & the weird no tongue thing is real :/

I love the feel of the shoe but as another review stated a little hard to get off and on. Also they seemto run a little small but before I put that to FACT I'm going to wear them around my house on carpet this evening and see if they still seem to be a little shorter than my Nike or Brooks...If you need any extra length in this shoe I would go up a half size...Brooks and Nike that I have worn are both a little longer in length.... But I love the shoe I will return and order a half size larger if needed....

I love the color combination of these shoes but hate the fact that the tongue is attached. It makes for a very tight fit and made it hard to put on.

I'm a male and I wear 10.5 normal width, which is a women's 12 wide.Amazon frequently has stupid cheap sales on women's 12's so I usually scan for the women's version of a shoe if it's cheap enough and the colors aren't too girly.These things feel awesome, just as comfy as adidas cloud foam, but hopefully a more resilient sole unlike the cloud foams that go flat after a year. Time will tell. I bought two different colorways of the same women's 12 wide and am happy with them.

I bought these and when they were delivered I tried them on and couldn't even get my feet in them. They didn't have the tongue part to them so you couldn't open the shoe up to give you more room to get your foot in. These shoes were more of a slip-on type shoe and I struggled big-time trying to force my foot in them. They were way too narrow. I had to return them for a refund.

After reading SO many reviews about wonky sizing, I ordered three different sizes to find the right one. What a waste of time! Just go with your normal size and width if they have it. These run TTS, and the width is forgiving enough that even though I have a wide foot I am comfortable in the “narrow” width but still my same size. Yes, the wide width would have been perfect, but I am still happy and comfy.The thing to know is that the entrance where you push your foot in is a little narrow cuz there is no tongue. People, this is how you handle that. SIT ON A CHAIR. Pull on the back tab as your slide your foot in at a slight angle (a la ski boot). Push your foot AS you pull with your hand. If you’re wearing a sock it will glide over the smooth inner material. Voila! Your foot is in, with a snug ankle-supporting fit. No need to order two whole sizes up! Just take 60 seconds instead of smashing your foot in like it’s a Croc.

Having read reviews, I decided to order a half size up. I'm glad I did. I'm a typical UK 6 (US 8) but the UK 6.5 (US 8.5) fits perfectly. They're so comfortable.
