I love this knife buuuuut…
This is such a cool Bowie knife but I wouldn’t take it camping with me. Not that sharp but for the price I’ll happily take it to the wet stone. The belt strap on the sheath is peeling off but I’m planning on replacing it so it’s not that big a deal. Definitely a collectible, I’m planning on displaying it at work after some alterations. I wouldn’t use it to chop down tree limbs or face down a mountain lion with it though, let’s not forget it’s a cheap fixed blade knife. I’ve seen other reviews about the handle being loose or breaking off completely, luckily the knife I got is is good condition and the handle is good and sturdy. Unfortunately the blade and the handle aren’t lined up perfectly 😑 but for the price it’s a rad Bowie knife. Good imagination fuel for daydreaming about being a pirate/cowboy 🏴☠️🤠

Cowboy Cool knife
It’s a decent novelty knife that’s actually useful, big and sharp enough for most of my needs while looking Wild West cool. I bought a different sheath for it and now it looks really good. Low price so no complaints.

The tang is weak, the handle is loose fitting
I like the D Guard, I like the blade, but unfortunately it’s stainless steel and no carbon steel. The tang is a two piece, with a thin soft iron rod loosely welded to a short pseudo tang, we can expect this to bend or break easily. The wood handle is very loose, and not fitted to the pseudo tang snugly, we can expect this to twist and crack with any serious use.

Know what you are buying
This is a repo of a D-Handle Bowie, like was used Civil War Era and in earlier forms prior back to the Revolution. Alot of metal, basic construction. This one looks like whomever sharpened it had a real left hand bias but it will be fixed. I don 't think it will ever be a shaver. How good the edge will be and how it lasts still to be determined but for a camp knife I have no doubt it will be fine. Hanging on your belt for a re-enactment event it looks the part. It has a proper feel to it but unless you plan on hand to hand combat a smaller knife will be more useful...but then we don't always but the most useful things. Accept it for what it is and you will like it.....if you want that showpiece piece of steel look somewhere else. I have a feeling this one will just come out on the fall camp where we camp with a tarp and hunt small game with flintlock shotguns in the fall. It will be busting up kindling while I clean fowl and fish with the 4" Buck straight blade that's been in the family for 3 generations

Not bad at all
You can't go wrong for this price. It's probably not the best knife to have if your life depended on it, but its way cook for not a lot of money.

Costume knife
Blade comes dull but can be sharpened. It definitely looks good for costume use

Meh.....
CONS....... #1, The knife pictured IS NOT the knife I received (ie. no CSA on blade)! #2, Sheath is garbage, and knife doesn't seat well. #3, I've bought better blades at junk stores than this one. #4, Doesn't balance well, and feels like a shovel handle in your hand. PROS....... #1, Price, it was cheap enough. #2, It's just for looks/costume accessory. #3, It has sufficient weight to feel good on the belt. Takeaway, it's good for looks, but don't get your hopes up.

blade not very sharp it looks cool

Garbage, bought it out of curiosity. Blade was loose and could wiggle back and forth out of the box. Took it apart and found about 1/2” tang with a mild steel rod pressed into it. Even the small nut holding it all together was off centre. Don’t bother with this one.

Better then expected

Didn't come sharpened (not sure if that's a normal thing or not with knives). The loop on the sheath needs to be lower so the knife can't slide out as far.
