Pure tasty goodness
I am a tea drinker, and only ever drink green tea, and recently have started to drink Matcha, and was surprised at the beginning how opaque it is, a bit like a thin pea soup, though doesn’t taste like that of course! Now I’m used the the opaqueness of matcha, and it doesn’t effect the taste at all. What I like about this particular matcha tea, is that it’s pure, without any additional flavours, which is ho I like my green tea, just pure. The product itself is a fine green tea powder, you just need half to one teaspoon for a cup (or mug in my case), to which you add a small amount of water (80 to 90 degrees, not boiling), whisk or stir rapidly to dissolve than top up with hot water to make a full cup. This then produces an opaque dark green tea.Unlike many matcha teas I’ve tried, this one leaves very little settled residue at the bottom of the cup, and the small amount there may be is soon sorted with a swirl of the cup in your hand. This ceremonial grade matcha green tea is delicious to drink, and although I haven’t tried the matcha latter yet, that’s next on my list, and then trying as a food ingredient. In summary, this match green tea is pure and tasty and not bad value for 100g. I’m very happy with it, so recommended from me for drinking.

Good culinary grade matcha. 🍵
There are a few grades of matcha & this is culinary. So you don't necessarily want to be breaking out the tea set & whisk for this one. Its good tea, but I found it slightly too bitter when I tried a bowl of it.However when used in things like smoothies, baking & the multitude of other things that matcha is now making its way into its has good flavour & stunning colour. Its a big pouch; as matcha goes. You get a resealable pouch that contains 100g of organic culinary-grade matcha for £14.99 which is a pretty good deal.To get it to mix properly its best to sieve it into whatever you're doing or it can clump a bit. But once sieved it does mix in evenly, especially into dry goods. Its not the most soluble stuff in the world, hence why when making tea a little bamboo "chasen" [whisk] is pretty much a necessity.I've been using it for smoothies, porridge, soup, baking & in some salad dressings. but you can add it to things like lattes or ice-cream where it looks stunning.I'd buy this brand again for cooking, you get a good amount & you aren't paying the prices of ceremonial grade.

An organic culinary Matcha powder - premium quality, premium price...
Culinary Matcha like this is for inclusion in drinks such as smoothies and lattes or in cakes, macarons and the like. If you're looking for the version you can drink, seek out Ceremonial Matcha Tea. The online description is somewhat ambiguous in this regard.AprikaLife's Matcha is very much premium quality. It's organic, conforming to Japanese and US certifications and is imported from Japan, specifically from Yokkaichi - 300 feet above sea level by the Yamada family who've grown Matcha for 800 years. If you're very keen to have top quality stone ground Matcha powder that's organic, grown in the shade this AprikaLife version would be a great choice. I like to use Matcha as an ingredient in cakes and although I entirely appreciate this Matcha's quality and purity, it is of course pricier than many other brands and a little too pricey for my taste. Yet it's a very good product and some will no doubt find its evident superior quality and heritage reassuring.

Smooth, mild flavour, no bitterness
I’m a big fan of matcha – I really like a matcha latte before bed but I also like to make deserts too. This is a nicely packaged product: the pouch seals well once opened and it’s quite small so doesn’t take much space. This is culinary-grade matcha, intended to be used as an ingredient rather than to be drunk whisked into water (ceremonial) – although it can be used in this way.The powder is better when sieved – the first time I used it, it was a bit lumpy (I couldn’t find my sieve) but the next time it smoothed nicely. This makes really nicely flavoured matcha – it’s quite mild, I needed to use more than normal but it’s very smooth and not at all bitter. For 100grams, I feel it’s a little expensive for culinary grade matcha (currently £17.20) although it is certified organic and is very smooth in flavour.

PLEASE don't make tea with this.
If you're looking at this product and don't know about matcha, first do a quick Google search or look at a YouTube video or two.For me, a cup (bowl, actually) of properly made macha is one of life's little pleasures. But there are various types of macha. For making tea, you want to buy 'Cerremonial Grade' macha. - And please don't try to make it by popping a couple of spoonfuls into a tea pot. Again, search out a video or two to see how to make Macha correctly. This is a lesser grade, which is intended as an additive to various recipes - it'll add colour, some taste, and lots of healthy goodness. And if you look above, there are some recipes on this page while will give you some idea of the sort of thing you can do with it.Matcha is wonderful stuff, but ideally you want the right kind of matcha for the job. And this one isn't for making tea.

Great for cooking, nice flavours, but expensive.
Nice matcha powder for cooking, but tends to the expensive side.Used this in both cooking and drinking to try a variety of different uses and the results were all very good. This is culinary grade matcha, which is a step down from the ceremonial grade, but it's Japanese matcha, so the quality is very good. The flavours come through very well in cooking and I really enjoyed it. For drinking, absolutely fine too, whether you want to make teas, lattes, and the like. It is usually said that the ceremonial grade is better for tea ceremonies, etc, but this is very nice too, so nothing to stop you from doing that.£17.20 with a 10% off voucher to put it at £15.48 for 100g is quite expensive though. That said, for an organic Japanese matcha, it's not too bad, and I can recommend it despite the expensive price.
