5 pack?
Very nice, very smooth. The picture I've included was with my 2.8 mm nib duckbill pen with black Waterman ink. The paper is very smooth, and waxy. It doesn't soak up the ink very much. It's more like the ink brushes against the paper. It's nice, but not super ideal for me. I was hoping it would be like Tomoe River paper, since Tomoe River doesn't make a ringed note book. For perspective, Tomoe River paper does a good job soaking in the ink, so there's no bleed and it writes smooth. This paper has a nice wax like finish, so there's no bleed, but the ink doesn't quite soak in, which makes black in look more grey. However, that could also be due to the flow of the pen you use. But over all, this is fantastic for practicing my calligraphy. This is the 6.9" x 9.8" book. Nice and compact, with a sturdy cover. It's also worth noting, this is a 5 pack of books. I didn't know I ordered a 5 pack, so it's nice to know I'll have spares.

Great paper for fountain pens
I write with fountain pens; all kinds of nibs. TWSBI stubs, Pilot Custom 74 Broad and Medium nibs, Pelikan stubs, etc. This paper is fantastic for almost all of my fountain pens. There is virtually no ghosting on the backside of the paper. Ink does take a few seconds to dry, but that's to be expected. The paper is very smooth; almost too smooth for some of my Pelikan 14K stubs, but not quite. Those nibs are adjusted to write extremely smoothly, so naturally the paper is a little extra smooth for those. My favorite pens to use on it are my Pilot Custom 74s with Broad and Medium nibs. Those pens combined with this paper give me just enough tooth to write quickly and enjoy the experience. I love the cream color; it makes my ink colors look a little different, which provides a nice bit of variety from white. Of course these notebooks are not cheap, but good fountain pen paper never is. I highly recommend these notebooks.

Best notebook for fountain pens
Yes, this notebook is extremely expensive. It is also the absolute best paper I've ever seen. From Tomoe River, Cosmo Air Light, Midori, Life, Graphilo and countless others, this paper is leaps and bounds above them. It shows shading and sheen with inks that other paper shows. It is ultra smooth and has no feathering, ghosting or bleed through. Definitely worth a try if you're a fountain pen user looking for the ultimate paper.

Quality graph notebook
I've been looking for a graph notebook that has thick paper and isn't ugly, and this is it! The graph lines are light and subtle, which is nice because my writing actually stands out on the paper. The spiral is made of a pretty gold metal, and the cover is sturdy. The paper is thick and I haven't had any problems with ghosting at all. It's also not perforated, which I prefer because I was having issues with other spiral notebooks where the pages started to tear out just from flipping through after a while. The pages have a vintage beige-ish color - I was most concerned about that part, but I actually love it. The only thing I didn't expect is that the paper has sort of a slippery feel, but I haven't had problems with smearing or anything so it hasn't bothered me. Definitely recommend this notebook!

This notebook is truly fountain pen compatible
I've been seeking a good notebook to use as a personal journal. Most of the ones, even though description says OK for fourntain pens, bleed. I like to use both sides of the paper. I don't like hard bound books, too hard to lay flat and hard to carry in a bag. This is spiral bound so absolutely lays flat. It has a nice number of pages, not to big, not too little. The paper is not as thick as the dingbats but my largest nib does not bleed through. The paper is also beautifully smooth, no nib dragging. The A5 size includes the width of the spiral so the paper is a little bit smaller than other A5 pads. The covers are a very heavy black stock, very elegant. I was using the Lemmon notebook, but Amazon stopped carrying it so I had to start searching. Although I do like the "composition notebook" style of binding better than spiral, I could not find any that were fountain pen compatible, so this one is it.

Slick Pages
A decent notebook with thick pages, BUT the finish on the paper is very glossy. I prefer inky pens like the Pilot Precise V5 and the page simply would not absorb the ink in a usable amount of time. After a page of smears, I decided to give it away. This notebook is strictly for those who use ballpoint and/or felt tips.

Best journals I’ve used!
My go to journal for the last few years. I’m an avid fountain pen user and this paper is very satisfying to scribble down my deepest thoughts!

My search is over…..
I absolutely love this notebook. The thickness and smoothness of the paper (not everyone is going to like the smoothness but it works for me and my fountain pens). The sturdiness of the cover/spiral binding, it’s just a luxurious notebook that I don’t mind pelting out the money for. There is some ghosting for me but I don’t mind, I don’t use both sides of the paper. Got and use all the sizes for different things, using this one for studying German (B5),another as a personal journal (A5) and the (B6) as a misc, to do list etc etc. As a fountain pen user I’ve tried every paper/notebook available and this is the one for me.. I say give it a try🙂
