Alien vs. Alien (Alien Novels) Mass Market Paperback – December 4, 2012

I've read this book twice now, as I like to read the series again when a new one comes out, as the next one did a couple weeks ago.I love all the action, mystery, action, suspense, action, romance, and don't forget plenty of action to keep you on the edge and heart racing from beginning to end, not one dull moment. I'm so glad Kitty is coping as an ambassador, in D.C. soooo much better than the last book. Everyone seems happier and coping themselves too. We also get three love connections this time, the human and AC family just keeps getting bigger and better.Besides all the butt kicking and taking names, I liked that others (in head positions) finally see that Kitty is not some dumb blond adrenaline junkie, but quite intelligent especially under pressure. I also liked that we got a little more of the old team.The main thing I only gave it up to four stars instead of five, was I didn't really think the bad aliens were portrayed or written about enough, too short, unexplainatory. We know they've been here before and they now want to take over earth and then alpha centuria, but not really why. All this horribleness due to two people, then they just say "your rude" when Kitty lays into them how horrible the things they're doing........then family and friends agree when she complains about it........Just doesn't sit right with me. I love this series, and Gini continues to amaze me with all she comes up with, eager to start the new one tonight.

I chose this book because the writer does a great job of keeping the action rolling. Also, because the story starts and ends within these pages and I don't have to wait for the next book to see how it ends! This the sixth book I have read by Gini Koch. She hasn't changed her style because it works. You gotta love the down to earth plain language she uses which makes Kitty seem so real. When you can't possibly see how the heroine is going to pull this one off, .... There are some new characters in this book. Kitty just keeps on adding staff to the already large family. If this is the first book you are picking up in this series, don't worry. This writer is skilled enough to get you caught up without sounding like a high school essay. The next book doesn't come out for five more months, but there is another series that I'm already starting on. Yes, she is THAT good of a writer. I only wish that the books were more like 500 pages long.

Always funny, suspenseful with just the right amount of heat, and enough Easter Eggs to fill any Geek basket with joy. Second time reading the whole series. Third time for this book and if anything, I enjoyed it even more.

This series started out with a heroine that was really a take charge gal in dealing with alien monsters, either accidentally or because she has some hidden skills of her own. In this book it seems like everyone, her husband, mother, staff all look to her to get "All of Earth" out of trouble from invading aliens who are not the good guy aliens of the world her husband comes from. I thought that was probably a stretch on Gini Koch's part. I gues if you are a kick butt heroine, saving the world isn't too much to expect.

I really enjoy this series for the humor and the fact that is so different than similar series that feature a spunky heroine, sci-fi/supernatural adventures, assorted lovers, sidekicks and villains. This series has no vampires, angels, demons, ghosts, zombis or were-whatevers. Aliens, hard rock and hairspray! In this particular installment I loved Kitty's new abilities with regards to animals (no spoilers) and the acknowledgement of her problem-solving skills as being truly exceptional. In the past it was implied that she was just lucky so it is nice to see that people are realizing her talent. My only problem is that there are too many recurring characters. Every book adds a few more and it is becoming too hard to keep track of who's who.

I am so glad I discovered Gini Koch's Alien series a few years ago and since then anxiously await each book. Imagine my euphoria to learn there will books forthcoming for years to come! Alien vs. Alien is a blast in the series as many known characters have important roles in the story - with Kitty in the middle of the chaos, naturally! Some old enemies resurface, there are betrayals and monsters and battles galore - and Kitty and Jeff even have time for a little "yowling!" Their baby is gaining mire powers and there's an important spoiler re: ACE. Bring it on, Gini! I'm ready for more craziness!

Koch starts strong. Always. Her openings grab the reader. I'm not sure the reader actually has to be awake, they are that good. Having said that, the general good gal vs. bad guys or gals is standard super-hero stuff, and there are way too many explorations of the heroine's libido. I got to skimming those parts because they boring and unnecessary.The books in this series are great for light reading, snappy dialogue and general fun.

An excellent and well written story about aliens living on Earth that help to protect there home from aliens that are not so nice. The new story builds on the old without seeming like there is a lot of filler. Everything seems to happen for a reason. The author introduces the backstory in just the right amounts so you know what is going on, but don't need to necessarily read the previous books. My favorite characters in this book are new to the series - the attack peacocks. You want to know what they are well you will have to read the book. :-)

Being the sixth book in a series that has such a high level of brilliant little quirks, plotlines, twists and laugh out loud humor can be difficult to continue and enhance upon even further. Gini Koch has managed that with this book as she has with every book since the first. It keeps you guessing about what's going to happen next and continues to add to the comedic laughs where a comics geek girl can savee the day and do it looking good (or close enough). With details and plot information dotted throughout the book where needed but carefully integrated so that the the story flows from place to place and from every fight and flight smoothly and makes the reader want to keep on reading to find out what happens next.The scenes described are graphic in cases and loving in many and lets the reader relate to kitty and all the other characters as though they are your best friend sitting next to you as you read.or as though you are experiencing them yourself.A brilliant book which is part of one of my two favourite series I have ever read.

I thoroughly enjoy fantasy sci-fi fiction which has humour and puns, plays on words etc and Gini Koch delivers this as usual in the latest in the Kitty series. This would make a surreal move too! Alien invaders attack the aliens here and the usual mayhem with a bit of sex, megalomania, many hunky men (fighting mostly). Of course the kick-ass intuitive women save the day... What more do you need except a cup of tea/coffee and a sofa?

Kitty Katt-Martini und ihre Alpha Centauri bekommen wirklich nicht viel Zeit zum verschnaufen. Kaum hat sie zusammen mit ihrem Mann Jeff eine Verschwörung in Washington aufgedeckt und Bösewichte ausgeschaltet, die die Welt mit Hilfe von riesigen Androiden beherrschen wollten, geht es auch schon ins nächste Abenteuer.Da ihre kleine Tochter zahnt und ihre empathischer Mann Jeff auch mit den stärksten Blocks nicht geschützt werden kann, zieht sie mit Kind und einem kleinen Tross nach Florida zu ihren Schwiegereltern. Doch auch da findet sie der Ärger - in Form von dem lästigen Senator Armstrong, von dem sie nicht weiß ob er ein Freund oder Feind in Washington ist. Kurz danach werden Wanzen gefunden im Haus und auch ihr Freund Chuckie und Jeff scheinen irgendwas vor ihr zu verbergen. Als sie zu einem mysteriösen Test auf eine NASA Station gebracht wird um ihre Sicherheitsstufe zu klären, passieren seltsame Dinge. Beim Versuch sie von der Gruppe zu trennen um sie separat zu testen, wird sie von der Leiterin angegriffen und es stellt sich heraus, dass sie ein Android ist. Da der Test abgebrochen wurde und ihre Sicherheitsstufe nicht geklärt ist, haben plötzlich alle Geheimnisse vor ihr. Zurück in Washington passieren die seltsamsten Sachen und alles eskaliert, als plötzlich Chuckie und Jeff verschwinden. Zusammen mit dem ehemaligen Pontifex Richard und ein paar anderen aus ihrem Team, muss Kitty plötzlich nicht nur ihren Ehemann und besten Freund wiederfinden - sondern stellt fest, dass die Welt vor einem Angriff aus dem All steht. Und es liegt in ihren Händen, alle zu retten. Mal wieder!---------------------------------------------------Unglaublich aber wahr - die Reihe wird mit jedem Buch besser! Gini Koch setzt ihre Heldin Kitty auch im sechsten Band der Reihe wieder einmal großartig in Szene. Dieses Mal macht sie allerdings so viele Schauplätze und Fäden auf, dass man - genau wie Kitty - zu kämpfen hat, um noch den Überblick zu behalten, wer Freund und Feind ist und was der Feind so alles vor hat. Wie üblich schlägt sich Kitty mit ihrer frechen großen Klappe durch, doch als Jeff verschwindet und die Angriffe immer massiver werden, gerät auch sie in Panik. Der sechste Band ist auch etwas düsterer als die Vorgängerbände und die Alieninvasion ist schon streckenweise erschreckend blutig. Das sind keine Weichspül-Bösewichte mehr aber vielleicht auch genauso, wie man sich vorstellt, dass Außerirdische denken.Besonders klasse war ihre Idee mit den Hackern - aber dazu will ich nicht mehr verraten um künftigen Lesern hier nicht zuviel zu verraten.Mit fast 500 Seiten ist es auch das bisher längste Buch der Reihe und wartet mal wieder mit jeder Menge Action und neuen und alten Bekannten auf. Ich hätte mir etwas mehr James Reader gewünscht aber der hat dieses Mal zu viel um die Ohren. Gewohnt spritzig und wieder mit viel Wortwitz hat mich Gini Koch überzeugt, dass diese Reihe einfach genial ist und mich auch weiterhin bei der Stange hält. Allerdings sollten ihre Bücher einen warnenden Aufkleber auf dem Cover haben: Vorsicht beim Lesen in öffentlichen Plätzen - lautes Lachen garantiert! Man darf gespannt sein, was sich Frau Koch für den nächsten Band überlegt hat, der zu meinem großen Glück bereits Anfang Mai erscheinen soll.Leider scheint der Piper Verlag die Reihe nach dem zweiten Band nicht weiter übersetzen zu wollen. Sehr schade, denn in Zeiten der Werwölfen, Vampire und sonstigen Gestaltwandler bringen die Aliens eine erfrischende Abwechslung ins Genre. Gini Koch hat einen wunderbaren Schreibstil und setzt ihre freche Heldin Kitty immer wieder durch Wortwitz und Courage prima in Szene.Wer die Reihe noch nicht kennt, dem kann ich sie nur wärmstens empfehlen. Inhaltsangabe:Kitty und der Rest des diplomatischen Corps der ACs erholen sich noch immer von den Ereignissen seit ihrer Ankunft in Washington D.C.Doch neue Bedrohungen in Form von Amok laufenden Androiden, neue geflügelte Unterstützung, zu eskalierende politische Spannungen und ein Senator gefangen in einer Intrige. Das alles scheint unmöglich abwendbar, doch Kitty ist gewohnt das Unmögliche möglich zu machen.Aber als Jeff und Chuck während dem "International One World Festival" verschwinden wird es schlimmer und es scheint, dass selbst ACE ihnen nicht helfen kann ...Meine Einschätzung:Wenn ich daran denke, dass ich kurz davor war diese Reihe abzubrechen, könnte ich mir selbst in den Hintern treten!Mittlerweile hat mich das Alien Fieber wieder gepackt und lässt mich nur schwer los. Gini Kochs Schreibstil ist detailliert, fesselnd und nicht immer ganz einfach, aber angenehm, zu lesen. Trotz der wachsenden Ernsthaftigkeit der Handlung gelingt es der Autorin mit ihren charmanten, witzig - spritzigen Dialogen die Atmosphäre aufzulockern.Was mich zur Handlung führt, die wie zuvor sehr komplex ist (ebenso die Anzahl der agierenden Charaktere) und meine volle Aufmerksamkeit bedarf um Kittys Gedankengängen zu folgen. Meiner Meinung nach ist die Reihe nichts für Zwischendurch (für den kleinen Hunger, es ist schon eine ausgewachsene BuchMahlzeit!)An dieser Stelle sei auch gesagt, dass ich das Gefühl habe, dass die Handlung mit jedem Band der Reihe reifer wird und es teilweise harter Tobak ist den Gini Koch ihren Lesern auftischt. Wie mein Co Fan Girl Sabine so schön sagt: Sie zieht die Samthandschuhe langsam aus.Ich bin jedenfalls gespannt, wo wir noch hingeführt werden.Nun aber zu den Charakteren. Ich bin nach wie vor schwer begeistert wie viel Entwicklung die Charaktere durch laufen, wie die Handlung werden auch sie reifer und erwachsener. Es ist toll die alten Freunde wieder zu treffen, aber auch spannend neue Leute kennenzulernen. Und doch wird auch ein liebgewonnener Charakter (Reader) schmerzlich vermisst, er ist präsent, aber nicht mehr so wie zu Beginn! Ich hoffe das ändert sich ...Insgesamt ein sehr starker 6. Band, der mich atemlos zurück ließ.Mein Fazit:5 Sterne - spannend, fesselnd und rasant! Absolute Leseempfehlung und Suchtpotential ist bei dieser Reihe garantiert.
