Ameda MYA Breast Pump Replacement Flanges 30mm (2)

I really like how the larger size of phalange is available to purchase; however, I really dislike how there is an adapter piece that you have to use that attaches to the bottles. This adapter piece DOES NOT fit the bottle correctly and DOES NOT screw onto the bottle correctly and I have to sit and hold the bottle and the adapter piece together so I don’t lose my pumped milk. This is very frustrating because every time I use my pump, I have to fight with this adapter piece to get it to stay attached to my bottles...

I’m writing this review under my husbands profile: the flanges come with bottle adapters. The adapters are screwed into the flanges on one end and the bottle on the other end. Well the adapter does NOT fit the bottle that comes with the pump. It turns and clicks and turns and clicks, but is not secure on the bottle. After I pumped I tried to remove the flange from my hands free nursing bra and the adapter came apart from the bottle. How disappointing to loose your milk when trying to build a stash in preparation to return to work. The pump came with 24mm size flanges I used them a couple times but realized they were too small. I purchased the 28mm flanges and again the were too small. I purchased the largest size they have and they are again to small and defective. It seems the Ameda mya wasn’t designed with women requiring larger flange size in mind, as there aren’t any options larger than 30 mm and the bottle adapter for the 30 mm flanges is not a viable option at all.

These are not the flanges that come with your original Mya. These are a different Ameda flange with an adapter attached. As another reviewer said, the attachment never screws tightly—it screws and pops lose, screws and pops lose, and is a major risk for coming lose and dropping the milk. Disappointed.

These flanges are so much better for me (recently was using a 24mm) my doctor recommended 30mm sizes and they feel great. Easy to put together and use. Very secure, NO LEAKAGE. Unless you sit down sideways and who does that? Pumping just became a little Bit more comfortable. I am able to put more in less time. That was 8oz in 15minutes vs 20+ minutes.

This worked as expected (so my wife says). She feels this size is more comfortable than the default size she got. I feel these were a bit pricey for what they do.
