Pure And Simple, Volume Two

I usually LOVE all gaither videos but I was so excited about the Pure and Simple set because it actually stepped outside the usual musical entertainment and the previews led you to believe the 5 of them ( Bill, Michael, Wes, David and Mark) were actually going somewhere and we would get to see a lot more up close and personal about each singer but it was very short snippets ( they never did go/arrive anywhere) and they made a few comments about each song that was coming up on the video.If you have a choice of just 1 of the 2, Part one is a little longer and I think has the most to offer. Part 2 is almost exactly an hour and mostly features Ms. Prim on one some for about 10 minutes and the Booth brothers.I was disappointed in this. I have many other of their videos that I like much better than both of these put together.I saw another video that the group, I believe it was different group members that they at least stopped at Joey and Rory Feeks diner and talked. That always makes it seem like we are getting to know the singers behind the songs. I wish Gaither had done something like that with each of his groups.

This is another fabulous DVD from the new Gaither Vocal Band. I love the sound of this group. The combination with David Phelps, Wes Hampton, Michael English, and Bill Gaither cannot be beat. David sings a new song he wrote called 'Fools Gold' and I love it! I keep playing it over and over. But then I have never heard him sing a bad one. His voice is not to be believed. Wes sings a song called 'I will pray for you' and it will really touch your heart. The whole DVD is very entertaining. I also enjoyed the small outtakes when they were all in the van. The humor is great and they seem to really get along well. I do wish they would do more of these. Anyone who gets this DVD along with Pure and Simple #1 will certainly have hours of beautiful entertainment and you will want to play them over and over. :)

I bought both DVDs and enjoy them both.One should be aware, however that these are 65 min. DVDs. Other DVDs from this line have been from 90 to 120 minutes.I am editing, because I had the wrong volumes. Volume One is my favorite. However, "Fill My Cup, with Angela (guest performer on this volumetwo) is delightful."Sow Mercy is my least favorite, as I could not help but recall what happens to healthy seed when there are draughts, tornados, flood, fire, or sometimes pests, -like boll weevils, for example. (Yeah, I have picked cotton.) Sorry Mark. You are one of the best; but that song just isn't my favorite.

I really loved this DVD. The Gaither Vocal Band was superb as usual. Bill, Michael, Wes, David, and Mark never disappoint. Angela Primm's rendition of "Said I wasn't Gonna Tell Nobody" was fabulous. The audience couldn't even stay in their seats. Everyone was dancing. She was joined by The Voices Of Lee, which was great. A couple of songs by the Booth Brothers were really good. The Band having fun in the SUV on the road adds fun to the DVD. They enjoy each other so much. The only drawback to this DVD was it's too short.....just one hour. I wanted more.

As a fan of the Gaither Vocal Band and the Homecoming series, my mother loves this. I purchased it as a gift and she plays it occasionally throughout the year. Definitely a good purchase.

I am admittedly a GVB junkie. I live in Beijing so perhaps do not have as much exposure to Christian music as I would like. But when these dvd's come to my mail box - it is a good day!I was not disappointed with these two albums. The acoustic instruments, the 'letting loose' of the vocal creativity and the camaraderie in the smattering of road trip anecdotes. I listened to it twice in the first sitting!Well worth the purchase and beyond.

Since David Phelps and Mark Lowery are back with the group anything they do is great by me and this dvd supports that statement. The group seems to be having a ball during this taping and you have fun watching them. Not the usual Vocal Band music tho, it's more earthy and a nice switch. I just hope they don't go too far off the usual Gaither arrangements and stick to this format.

Pure and Simple provides superb music and prose in a way that will appeal to folk of any age. As an 80 year old who has known and loved the Lord Jesus for most of a life time I thrill at the joyful expressions that brim with life that is life indeed. I am fully confident that Pure and Simple will be treasured fror many years to come.

If you are going to buy vol 1, you might as well get vol 2. It's good music.

now I wish I had bought volume 1 as well!!! Love the new songs - looking forward to more cds

Good quality and exactly what we like to listen to in music. As it is the second DVD we needed it to complete the set.

I loved listening to the music. It was so uplifting , I will purchase another one in the future and send it to someone.

Gaither vocal music is such a blessing to my family and I. God anointed and inspired music and song by God loving people.Love it!
