I'd bought a pair of "yellow" vice jaws much like this one that were advertised to fit 3"-6" vices.My heavy duty bench vice is 3". The "yellow" jaws had magnets spaced far too wide for BOTH magnets to attach to the jaws of my vice at the same time. At best, I got 1 and a bit of another. That the magnets weren't very strong made me shove them back into the packing and submit a return.These jaw pad covers have the magnets spaced rationally, so that it can be shifted left or right on a 3" vice to fit with BOTH magnets adhering to the jaws and staying in place. The gripping power of the magnets is far better .I opted for this because of the pipe holding - a feature I need more and more in my crafting. There are other padded jaws made specifically for 3" vices, but they don't really work very well on pipes - at least not as well as something like this does, with enough give to conform to various diameter pipes and possessing enough hold to hang on to them through drilling, sawing, etc. without crushing or marring the pipe.It does what I need it to do in all respects, and has no down-sides. That merits 5 stars.

good material, size, only problem is one magnet came off after first use. other than that it’s great.

These are very handy to have. They go on and off quickly, and prevent marring your work. And the molded grooves allow you to grip round items at different angles. I recommend them.

I was tired of wrecking delicate stuff in my viseThese work perfect! However when I took off magnets stayed on vise! Simple fix, a dot of superglue under each magnet, let dry 30 minutes your good to go, I used to hold a billet oil filter from turning no marks

In the past, I have made several vice jaw protectors from wood, steel, and/or leather. None have worked as well as these. They are made from a durable, flexible rubber-like compound with slots and grooves designed to hold your work tight while not damaging the item. After purchasing my first set, I ordered two more sets for my other vices. These pads should be a part of every shop's arsenal of tools.

Upon opening these, the magnets fell out so I'm going to need to get some epoxy and glue them back in. For what they cost I'm going to keep them and they seem a little bit softer than ones I've had in the past but I think they'll still be okay but it was disappointed that the magnets have to be repaired before I can use it. I'm not faulting the actual rubber jaws I'm faulting the glue that holds them in place
