Nuvo Instrumental N510JBBK Black jSax

I got this as a fun travel instrument to take on vacation when I can't, or don't want to, lug around my sax. It has a decent soprano/oboe like tone, and is easy to play. Even the plastic reed works pretty well. The fingering is very similar to sax fingering, so it's a relatively easy adaptation. It is chromatic, as advertised, but most of the half tones are achieved by leaving holes half covered, which requires some new technique for a sax player. A few notes like B flat require strange fingering, but I'm adapting I think I'll enjoy having this with me on vacation. Although I don't have kids, I can see that this would be a good starter instrument for someone who wants to experiment with the sax without investing in the real thing.

Cheap and never sounds in tune in the highs. Meh, save your money. Needs better Reed's and better tuning.

Great for a sad and clarinet. Great on the go and super durable and easy to clean.
