Fantastic for the seasonal [wannabe]chef...
I wouldn't describe myself as a great cook, but in the colder months I do like experimenting in the kitchen and giving new dishes a go, so I couldn't wait to open the book and get stuck in. And after trying various recipes, without burning the house down in the process, I can say that I'm very happy with my copy of Season's Eatings - I particularly recommend the various gnocchi dishes & the mole enchiladas, and the pasta dishes are popular in my house. I am working up to attempting the delicious looking desserts…The book opens with a short intro, then is spilt into nine sections, covering Halloween, Bonfire Night, Thanksgiving [no idea why - Gizzi hails from Cardiff], Christmas and it's lead up, and New Years. You get recipes for every part of a sitdown dinner - starters, main meal, desserts, and drinks. Of course you can use the recipes whenever you want, but it's nice to know that you're covered if you plan on inviting family and friends over for dinner over the next few months. The how-to steps for the recipes are easy to follow, most of the ingredients are a lot easier and cheaper to find then they were in some of Gizzi's other works, and there are plenty of full-colour photographs providing illustration. Also the general layout is eye catching, so this is an attractive book, and would be something that would make a pretty and useful gift for someone, as well as a gift for yourself.

Lots of great ideas and new things to try!
This is a lovely book. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet but I have enjoyed flicking through and drooling at the pictures. It doesn't only cover Christmas, but spans the period from Halloween to New Year. The recipes are fun and engaging and I think they would appeal to children both young and old (I particularly like the Spooky Face Coq Au Vin pie!). The photography and design are stylish and it would make a great gift. I have only given it 4 stars as I purchased the Kindle edition (my first e-cook book) and I haven't enjoyed it as much as I would have had it been hardcopy.

A great autmn/winter cookbook
Fantastic book from one of my favourite food writers there are some wonderful recipes in here concentrating on comfort celebration food from halloween through to New Years Day. Some beautiful photos and wonderful recipes, something for the inexperienced cook as well as those confident in taking on a bit of a challenge. She even makes sprouts appealing! Too many highlights to list.

Glamour Kitchen
I liked this book. I liked the slightly different recipes and the great production values. It's like sitting in a much more glamorous friend's kitchen and pinching their recipe book! It's going to be a tasty winter ...

Perfect cookbook for the festive season!
I love everything about Autumn and Winter, especially the food, so I'm probably a little biased! I loved this book! Wide range of food, clear recipes and inspired me to cook lots of different dishes. Would definitely recommend!
