Starts Promisingly then Fizzles Out
The book is by a retired senior Indian Intelligence officer (assisted by a professionally active journalist). It deals with the ostensible running of agents that infiltrate a terror group that's out to hurt India. The book starts off as a Bollywood potboiler and does grip for a few chapters. When three patriotic youngsters are recruited for infiltration to Pakistan, hope is aroused that finally the Pakistanis and their proxies are finally going to take a a hard knock.Sadly nothing much actually happens. Some Pakistanis are arrested before they do anything but it appears that they weren't likely to do much in any case. One is left a little bewildered at the end as to the purpose of the book.Possibly the author knows far too much and is chary of leaking secrets. If so he is taking himself and the book far too seriously. The book is not an official history of intelligence operations run by Indian agencies. The book is aimed at the layman who wishes to celebrate the success of Indian and the brave men and women (there aren't any women in the book. Really?? In this day and age??). The book would have suffered a better purpose if it was loosely based on facts in the public domain and then fleshed out with spunky characters who gave their all for India. The hero of the book is a rather clerical type who doesn't appear to have ever held a revolver. His forte is conducting meetings at safe locations. Definitely not India's George Smiley. Not someone that one can love, hate or identify with.At the end the book unfortunately leaves the Indian laymen and laywomen very confused. Hopefully the author will do far better with his next book.

A Good Indian Espionage
It is a good look into the working of national security and intelligence. I was expecting a more action-packed book but this book focuses more on how exactly the politics and thinking process work in a secret espionage mission. Some of the conversations felt forced but overall it was a great book.

Unputdownable thriller about India’s secret service operations
I’ve always been interested in stories about secret missions conducted by the Indian intelligence services but never came across a good book that connected real life events with an operation. So when I saw the title ‘Operation Trojan Horse', I was excited as it revealed what the focus of the book would be. I’m glad I bought the book written by D P Sinha and popular crime journalist Abhishek Sharan. It deep dives into actual incidents that provoked the Indian intelligence wing to take the battle to the enemy group and gives a detailed view of the inner workings of a successful secret counter-terrorism mission. Both the co-authors have been in roles where they have deep insights into the topic and so we can safely assume there’s more than a hint of truth behind the details provided. And it’s written in a fast paced manner making it difficult to put down the book till you have finished reading it to the end.

Must read, worth the time!
This book was really worth a read in terms of the language it's written ( the author has really conveyed every bit of knowledge possible) and the connections to every event in terms of different challenges which India came across in the form of terror plots. Not to reveal much of the contents of this book, would suggest you should get this book and know how India really operates in terms of intelligence received, information gathering , plan of action to protect India from unforseen danger!!
