I bought this because I caught our cat peeing in one of our carpeted rooms NEAR her litter box. The room smelled very bad, even though we kept the boxes clean, so I decided to do some investigating. As others mentioned, it doesn't pick up 'fresh' urine, but the older stuff...holy cow...she peed on just about every square inch of that room. (It's a behavioral issue, not health, so we're making some changes to the litter and box placement.) But this product helped me realize that some spot cleaning wasn't going to do it, we're going to have to go full shampoo to reclaim that room. The spots don't light up like CSI, but are very noticeable in full dark.

I didnt know a whole lot about UV light when I bought this. I bought this one and a cheapy under $10 one. The difference is amazing. While they both technically work, this one is much much better and stronger. Being able to use it without having to be completely in the dark is huge , it also shows a much larger area then the cheapest ones Just a heads up takes 6 AA batteries that are not included. Solid build quality, nice sturdy all metal build. Whether your looking for scorpions in the backyard or happy spots on sheets this will make them shine! And um ladies...if you take it into the bathroom, try and remember to give your man a break and not lecture him too bad on his aim.

We bought two of these to locate bark scorpions in Phoenix, AZ and they did not disappoint! The power of these lights is impressive, we were sometimes able to spot scorpions from 25-30 feet away. They produce so much black light you're able to find your way through the brush in the dark too. Very pleased with the produce for the price. ($22.99)

Got this out of desperation to find scorpions out the backyard . The fear of the possibility that thousands could be hiding in my tree out back was haunting my every thought after finding one out back. I searched and searched with this light and to my relief it was just the one singular scorpion out in our backyard. Rest easy y’all’s . We checked with this light and we are okay!

Definitely not strong enough to detect leaks unless you're right on top of it. I had water damage in my hallway and this light didn't show any of the water damage whereas the Shadowhawk S1979 did. I bought 3 different brands just to see which one would work the best. The Kobra came in 3rd.

I bought this for my girlfriend who wanted to find out if I had been “messing around ”. I made a bet with her, and told her I’d prove my innocence by buying her this UV flashlight so she can look for semen stains on certain items that I either worn or fiddled around with. I didn’t think this device would find anything at all because I’m a very neat and tidy person but, unfortunately for me, it did. It uses 6 AA batteries and is fairly large and somewhat heavy, about 7 inches in length. It’s also made in China, as you can see in one of the pictures (on the box). There’s one button on the handle to push, to switch on the light. The light is quite powerful. Long story short, my girlfriend discovered semen stains that weren’t visible at all in normal lighting. I was very surprised. Well, more like shocked. She used the flashlight in the dark and hunted around our bedroom, and found a one-inch semen stain on the inside hem of my form-fitting black turtleneck shirt and small semen stains on two pairs of my shiny men’s black leather dress shoes. As you can see in the photos, I always keep my dress shoes well-shined. I wore these shoes and the black turtleneck shirt when I had an affair last year, but I wasn’t aware that I had left any stains on them. My girlfriend also used the flashlight in her little son’s room, and discovered semen stains on her child’s action toy figure. She used the light everywhere around the house, and found semen stains in our bedroom and in her boy’s toy box. To be honest, I wished this UV flashlight hadn’t worked that well (or even at all), but it was amazingly effective. I not only lost a bet with my girlfriend, but now the woman wants an explanation from me for how my semen got on my men’s leather dress shoes, my black turtleneck shirt, and especially her young boy’s toy action figure. Her child told her that he “saw me” take his action figure to the bathroom once, implying that I handled the toy in an inappropriate manner for my own pleasure. It’s an eight-year old’s word against mine. I not only lost the bet with my girlfriend, but now I got some explaining to do.
