For the cost of this Canada it was well worth it. The video quality has been great. Customer service has been amazing. They responded back to me immediately about a replacement battery. The cámara is very durable and came with many accessories that come in handy. It’s very user friendly and anyone at any age can function this camara easily. The under water accessories are awesome. We have enjoyed this camara most definitely. I would not buy a go pro when this works just as great. The only 1 star on my review would be the app for this camara. The app needs major improvements and is not user friendly at all. One feature I absolutely dislike is how the downloading of videos takes place. Your device has to remain on the app download page at all times or the download will stop. So if I want to use my phone to browse on the internet or text message friends back I can not do that at the same time while in download mode in this app. So this causes extra time in my day lost because I’m waiting on the downloads. So I recommend an entire different device to download and save your videos on. If the app was better I would give that a 5 star, as of now the app is most definitely a 1 star. The camara is a 5 star, accessories are a 10 star.

Perfect for a stocking. Got for an active kiddo who absolutely loves documenting their outdoor adventures. I love that they don't have any games, online access, etc - just the ability for replaying their own videos and photos. The quality is good, functions easily. Easy for a child to pick up. All the accessories that come with it are great. The one issue I've had is that it is hard to hear the sound play back when watching a video that was taken. It's very quiet.

We haven't used this camera a ton yet, so we are still learning. We bought it mainly for MTB and kayaking and did not want to spend a lot of money on a more expensive camera, as we just want to play around with it, not invest hundreds of dollars. I will also start with saying that I am not very familiar with most any form of action camera. I just spent several hours on Amazon reading reviews from others who know more. :) Initially the remote would not operate the camera. I emailed customer support & they gave instructions to pair them. Thankfully it just randomly worked as I went to do it because the directions were very odd "1. Press both buttons vigorously 15 times. 2. The back of the remote control will hit the hard desktop 5 times." is the start of them, for instance. But I was impressed with their quick and through help! :) We took it kayaking, using a helmet strap mount I found elsewhere. In bright light it is very hard to see the light, if you have it on/off. I wish the remote had some way to show the camera was on as well. I would imagine this is an issue for all cameras outside, so not a ding at all. It took good video, and the sound even wasn't half bad, tho I didn't get it for sound. Accessing the photos/video inside the camera is a pain since it is not touchscreen. But I assumed this would be the case, so no big deal. :) Using the app, I was able to access them once but have not been able to since. It was easy to just pull the card and put it in a laptop/etc. to see them and I think I will stick to that as our way of emptying and saving videos and photos from the card. I do like that the app is working well aside from accessing taken photos/videos. I don't plan to use my phone to control the camera, but it is nice as an option if I change my mind in the future. The camera's version of standby for remote use is video or single still photo. The camera has the option itself to do burst photos and can be controlled via the camera or the phone app this way. I do wish you could be in burst vs. video with the remote, but if left in burst mode, you get the one set of burst photos, then it defaults back to still photos once the video button is used. I wish it had buttons/abilities for all 3 or would stay on burst as I am terrible at taking photos and use burst to help my poor skills lol. I haven't figured out all of the mounts yet. The connection clip in points on them seem to be fairly tight, which will be hard for me to undo, but at least I won't lose the camera as easily? There is an interesting lapel/pocket clip mount that goes with the dry holder. I only point it out as I am not sure I would 100% trust that the mount and the clip won't pop apart in an MTB crash. I wish the camera was held with more contacts for the dry mount and that there was some way to put a thin safety strap on the camera attached to me at the same time in case the mount busts, which I feel like will send the camera flying. Overall, I feel like it is a great camera for an entry level user who is just learning the ropes on having an action camera. :)

Awesome camera for the price! Come with so many accessories! Love the color, too. Easy to set up and go. Love that it has two batteries so you can charge one while you’re filming.

UPDATE: The manufacturer saw this review and sent a new camera. Upon going through the accessories, I was reminded that there were TWO backs to the camera case. Though difficult to see, the one I used in HI had slits in the sides and was NOT the waterproof one. The replacement camera has 2 backs as well, but one with clear grooves to indicate it is NOT the waterproof one. I also added nail polish on the hinges to help idiot-proof them--red (stop) on the non-waterproof backs and blue (water) on the waterproof ones. I tested the cases without the camera in the pool and the waterproof backs did keep the water out a couple of feet below the surface and with quite a bit of moving it around. I'll still note the difficulty distinguishing between the 2 backs and the lack of info in the owner's manual to be sure which back to use for underwater photography/videography. I have notified the manufacturer that it was operator error, not a product defect, that caused the failure and that I'm happy to pay for the replacement camera. This camera does come with an array of accessories so it can mount to almost anything. I have one on my bike handlebars. It could also mount to the helmet. The battery charger is compact and has clear indicator lights for charging and complete. Having 2 batteries means you can swap out and not miss much action. The upgraded battery door is a big improvement over the earlier model. The remote is helpful, but would need a dry bag to go under water, which makes it less accessible. Old: Just tried snorkeling with this camera in the "waterproof case" and it leaked and destroyed the camera. That said, it's mostly been sitting in a bag since I bought it in 2020 since, for various reasons, I haven't been snorkeling. I've used it on my bicycle, but only very short rides. I'm assuming that the seal was compromised over time and that is why it leaked, so I didn't take it down to 1 star. However, I did get it primarily as an underwater camera and it failed in its purpose.

Very good action camera for the price. Got all the things I expected except one. Still not able to connect to Akaso DV apps. as per manual. No way to update latest firmware ?
