But these coloring books are amazing. When I first looked at the pages
If you are thinking of purchasing the grayscale books, my recommendation is: Go for it! I wasn't sure, being new to adult coloring (although I colored all the time as a child, and revisited coloring in my teens). But these coloring books are amazing. When I first looked at the pages, I thought, "There's no way I can color these pictures; they have shading all over them!" Then I read the instructions in the front of the book. Selina Fenech explains in great detail how to color using these pages. I have one of the biggest sets of Prismacolor pencils, so I have a wide variety of colors to choose from. That is key here, because you'll want each color in at least three variations: light, medium, and dark.If you take your time and color carefully, you will have a masterpiece. My husband made me put one of my pictures up on the fridge! Also, it's teaching me how to shade, contour and shadow. I can't stop coloring!!

Another Wonderful Selina Fenech Grayscale Edt.
Yes, Selina Fenech does NOT disappoint! She has outdone herself in her latest grayscale edition of her fabulous magical coloring books! I am so happy with this one because she has lightened the darker shades a bit so lighter colors can be used. Not to mention the enchantment tone of the overall book is breathtaking!Ok, the nitty and the gritty!I really like how she still includes an extra copy of each image, it makes it a little less nerve racking just knowing you have a back up. Or if you are happy with how your picture turned out, you just have an extra to do as you wish with! Also, I love how each page is single sided and very easy to remove if one is so inclined. The paper quality is pretty much the standard of all coloring books, not artist quality but not super thin, it has a wee bit of tooth to it.It seems to accept any medium you may want to use, Marker, some water color, pastels, but I find that colored pencil works best, more specifically oil based colored pencil. No matter what medium you chose, I would always place a pice of card stock under for any bleed through. If you are going to leave your pic in the book as you work I would most certainly put card stock underneath so you don't get indentations on the next page.I just got my book today, so as soon as I get a page finished I will upload so everyone can see a finished pice.I did NOT receive this book free or for a reduced price. I am just an artist trying to pass on hopefully some helpful information!

AWESOME BOOK!
This book is just fabulous. I knew it wasn't going to be as easy as it says in the description "just color like normal" and with the grey scale your pictures will look like you are an artist that knows how to do shading....but what it does, it gives you a guide as to where to put your light or dark colors and helps you learn how to shade and how to get your colors to blend. You just need to take your time and try different techniques. I think this book is GREAT, and I'm getting more of her books in grey scale. As a new artists, I think this book has really helped me.

Not for all mediums as written. Water colors are best.
The technique of grayscaling is taking your painting and scanning it into a computer. The computer determains the lights, medium, and dark colors. They then print it out using a thicker viscous ink that leaves dots on the paper. The tecture is like a copper screen. I used prism as which got eaten up very fast and you need gamsol to dissolve the medium. Markers I was very limited in colors and blending is non existence. After viewing the videos all they used was water color. This is the best medium. The book has a duplicate set in case you make a mistake but the last 10 photos are not as they are from other books. If you want to cut out the pages you will need a construction knife to cut off the binder which took about 30 minutes and unless you have help it's difficult to do right. Would love to see her series without the grayscale technique as they are beautifully done.

Absolutely beautiful & relaxing...
Although Selina's books are called "adult coloring books" I bought this one along with 4 others (5 total) as Christmas gifts for my 7 year old who is very creative & artistic. I wanted something to inspire & challenge her more bc she & I both agree that kids coloring books are pretty much all the same cartoons with no vision. After receiving the books and reviewing them to make sure they would be appropriate, which they absolutely are, I found them to be absolutely beautiful & the perfect gift for her. When she opened them on Christmas she fell absolutely in love with them, and even better is that they have inspired her. Not only does she love learning how to color them like an adult artist (with blending, contouring, shading, ect.), but Selina has inspired & challenged her to learn how to create on a higher level with her own drawings, paintings, and so forth. I also love her coloring in Selina's books. I suffer from many health issues, and so I have found that whenever I get stressed or anxious I ask my daughter if I can color in one of her books (which she always says yes). I have found a new outlet coloring her beautiful drawings. They help me relax and clear my mind of whatever is happening within and around me. An even better thing about Selina's books is that there are 2 of every drawings in each book so my daughter & I can color the same picture together yet separately when we want and see how different yet beautiful we can color them.

Beautiful artwork, but grayscale a little too dark.
I love all of Selina Fenech's beautiful artwork and coloring books (my favorite is her Goddesses one, then the Mermaid ones). The amount of detail to color is just perfect, and I was really excited to try this grayscale book. The pictures are beautiful, of course, but my only wish is that the grays weren't so dark. Some of the nighttime pictures, especially, are so dark that parts are almost black, and I can't see how I would get my colored pencils to even show up. Maybe other mediums would work better, but I generally stick to my Prisma or Polychromos colored pencils. I own some grayscale books by other artists, and the shades of gray were much lighter, which I prefer. So overall, that is my only complaint, but besides that, it is still a lovely book.

Gorgeous book!!!
This colouring book is absolutely gorgeous. The paper is really good and my polychromos work beautifully. I use prismacolor for the skin as well and they really give a realistic effect. The pictures are just great. I have the all the artwork books by Selina and love her work. If you have all her colouring books, like the ones with no shading you'll find this one a must have so you can see where the shading must go. I love this book so much it's nearly a shame to colour it in. You do get the drawings twice so you can do different versions or experiment with colours. Buy it now!

Another great coloring book by Selina Fenech
Another great coloring book by Selina Fenech. High quality thick paper and two of each image. I think the artist is extremely talented and I have almost all her books.
