AccuQuiltGO! Fabric Cutting Dies, Dancing Umbrella by Edyta Sitar

Now, these are cute. I love Go! Cutter dies. They cut so cleanly and, of course, are so very consistent, that it's a pleasure to use them. Sometimes I think a specialized die like this one would not be such a good buy since I might use it only once, but I have found that that is not the case at all. First, I'm often the first one in my sewing group to try something; and everyone else wants to do something similar once they see whatever it is that I make. So, lots of us end up making more than I ever expected. Also, frequently whatever I make with the dies turns out to have been easy enough that I make another one for charity, or a bunch for presents. Although I haven't used this one yet, I plan to use it for girl baby and young children quilts, as well as for a table runner or two for the springtime. Then we'll see what all that inspires.

This is a very cute die. You apply a very light heat-n-bond to the back of the fabric before cutting. You can cut the fabric wrong side up to reverse the direction of the handle. It cuts four layers at once, precisely and cleanly. I use the "island batiks" fabric. There is a very helpful video on making the umbrella quilt on the Accuquilt web-site.

This fabric Die worked excellent. I made the dancing umbrella table runner which was easy and pretty. I used a Go Big Accuquilt with electric so cutting fabric was a breeze. I would recommend this to others.

As always, this designer has such lovely and whimsical designs. The die is perfectly sized for my project. I was fortunate because it was on sale!

Accuquilt Go dies work well. They cut up to 6 cuts at a time using the GO machine.

This is exactly the Umbrella pattern I wanted - I can use scraps and make a scrappy quilt which is what Edyta Sitar specialises in. I can embellish with embroidery if I want - a good multi use pattern.
