Beautiful recipes for a happy busy key worker!
I was gifted this book and it has honestly changed the way I plan my meals. I work in the NHS so I'm pretty tired all the time at the moment and I don't have much time. The freezer hacks and time saving tips for mid week meals are fab and I feel like I still get to eat a variety of delicious, exciting and fresh dinners despite lockdown. Wahoo!

Fabulous, freezable, delicious recipes for everyone!
Having a two-year-old I rely on my freezer as I feel strongly about feeding him as much home cooked food as possible. I make big batches of food, portion size them for the family and then freeze. But recently I’ve been running out of ideas and getting a bit stressed about giving my family the same old dishes all the time. This cookbook has been an absolute breath of fresh air! I’ve only had it for a few days and already made three of the recipes. Flatbreads which froze perfectly and were so yummy and simple to make and made the house smell wonderful. Chicken katsu curry which was absolutely delicious and again so simple - the sauce was surprisingly healthy made up of mainly veg. And the Zap-N-Go muffins which my little boy (and husband!) have eaten every day for snack time. There are so many more recipes in this book that I can’t wait to cook, freeze and eat!

The Ice Kitchen
This book has been a real eye-opener for me, as I tended to previously use a freezer for what I would have considered as typical food for freezers - i.e. ready meals, frozen veg, fish fingers/ burgers and ice creams!I happened to see Shivi on Saturday/ Daily Kitchen during lockdown, and was impressed by how animated she was when talking about cooking in bulk and freezing, and the little tips she gave - it had never occurred to me to cook a basic curry sauce, and freeze in an ice cube container so you were then able to take 'portion' sizes out the freezer at a later date to use (but it works)! So, I ordered the kindle version of this book, and it's opened up a whole new way of cooking to me. I like the way Shivi doubles up on the recipe, so you're able to eat some now, and freeze the rest for another day. Shivi gives tips on how to freeze, and defrost, the items.I've tried a fair few recipes from the book already, with Katsu Curry sauce, Ice Kitchen Oats, Yoghurt bark and cornbread as some of my favourites. And I really like the way she also gives alternative ingredients in places too, so you can have a variation of the recipe too.All in all, I love this book, to the point where I'm considering getting a bigger freezer!!!

The Cook Book for Actual Real Life
So many practical tips and suggestions for real life cooking. It’s exciting to see the freezer getting some much deserved glamour so i can feel a bit more cool when making use of it :) Loads of different recipes many of which are plant based. Whilst there of plenty of show stopping recipes for guests, I’m really looking forward to using this book to elevate my every day cooking for myself and my family which ultimately for me is the most important cooking aspiration. Would definitely recommend for every kitchen.
