The Christmas Story

The paper engineering is wonderful, especially on the page where the new star appears. While some reviewers have disliked the 'all white' 3 D pop up images, for me the 'all white' adds to the beauty, simplicity, and eloquence in this retelling the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. All of my children with families of their own received a copy of this book for their family Christmas 2019. My observations as they and my grandchildren experienced the book for the first time were that they also saw, heard, and felt it as I did, as a work of wonder, profoundly awe inspiring. If you love celebrating the true meaning of Christmas and you enjoy pop up books I highly recommend this book to your family.

This is a truly incredible book, both because of it's message of our Lord and Savior's birth, but also because of the truly beautiful pop-ups. It is hard to imagine that anyone could figure out how to fold paper in such an intricate way to create these stunning pop-ups. This is a book to be treasured and the company that sold them to us was fantastic to work with!

Love the page that has the wisemen looking at the star! The star twirls in the sky and looks like a beautiful piece of joy! And I love the beginning page when Mary comes to the window and sees the angel fly. (The green page where the lambs and shepherds are ripped). I love best of all the grand finale where Jesus is born in the stable! Written by a 9 year old boy.

I have other books by this artist- his work is gorgeous. This book is a beautiful gift- but I’m keeping it to put on my own coffee table!

I was amazed from the first page turn! An angel pops out just like it must have to Mary! Stunning work by Robert Sabuda as always.

After reading many reviews, I decided to open and inspect this book. Am I ever glad I did!! One of the pages was very noticeably discolored. Thankfully the book was quickly and courteously returned. Being mostly white is what adds to its charm. I would recommend this book. It was purchased for a 6-year-old girl.

Es muy bonito. El diseño es impecable. Pero es muy delicado, no es para niños.

A wonderful seasonal gift.

Robert Sabuda è fantastico! Questo libro, come anche gli altri suoi del resto, è un incanto, un'opera d'arte, è incredibile come prendono vita le immagini. Pur di averlo mi è andata benissimo anche l'edizione in inglese, anzi meglio perché il testo è semplice quindi è utile per imparare un po' la lingua. Non è certo un libro per bambini piccoli, va bene dopo una certa età, 8/9 anni, se sfogliato con attenzione.
