Are the pearls put inside the oyster?

A few seemed like the pearl had been tossed in by the way they fell out when opened. They were not easy to open! But lots of fun!!! These are definately oval & the majority were big pearls. Size of shell does not dictate size of pearl.

How many pearls cone in each oyster?

Just one pearl was found in each oyster. We opened 20 of them. The pearls varied in color: cream, peach, pink, coral, lavender, blue, and black.

Are they processed or packaged with formaldehyde or formalin?

I’m not sure but they don’t have a smell
