Keeps my office perfect, year-round!
I work from home several days a week and as a result my home office environment is very important to me. As the room is south-facing, it gets super hot during the summer and also my computer is quite high performance and can throw out a lot of heat when working on a task.As such, bought this Portable AC unit to keep the room cool. From 25-26 degrees it can get the room down to 19 (and keep it there) In less than 30 minutes. This has made working in the summer a ton easier. A major plus side to buying this machine was the included Window kit that works with standard UK casement windows (e.g. opening outwards with one hinge on the side). The machine is quite loud, but I do not notice it when I am wearing headphones, and as long as you don't strive for the room to be at a super low temperature, it will eventually become a lot quieter as it reaches temperature. I haven't found its power usage to be unreasonable whilst heating or cooling. In addition, I have not needed to perform any significant maintenance on the machine since getting it.

The perfect stress test
The primary function I’ve used with this unit is to cool my greenhouse of a home office. The room is 18sqm and, with one wall nearly totally made of glass, it will comfortably read 8-12°C above the outdoor temperature. As an example, the highest temperature I recorded in the room last summer was 38°C. But right now, where it’s 25°C outside, rather than worrying about dealing with it being 33-37°C in my office, it’s a rather chilly 20.5°C.Even when I came home late the other day to the room at 28°C, the cool air that the unit emits straight away gives immediate respite from the heat even if it did take an hour or so to drop to 21°C.I have also used the heating function which, although I didn’t measure it, was able to heat the room quickly and effectively.Cons? It is what it is, but I can’t pretend that having to dress the window and fit the exhaust out of it isn’t a pain. The exhaust pipe itself is also a little short – this was okay for my window but may be not for others. The unit is also very loud too. I’ve no reason to believe it’s any more or less loud than its competitors, but some may find the noise disturbing. For me, I wear noise cancelling headphones all day so I never actually hear it.I’m very happy with this product though. It was very much worth the £400 I spent on it, even if it is a steep price point.

It's okay, but had better
This unit is okay, it cools the room but not to our liking, it says 18c on the air con, but we have tested with two thermometers in the room and the lowest it has reached is 20c. Our old air con, took the room down to 15c, which was perfect in the summer to cool the room before heading to bed, knowing you could turn off the aircon and sleep in comfort. With this one, we have to either leave it on, which is very noisy or suffer the fait of the room heating up overnight.

Single handedly the best portable a/c unit out there
I should point out for reference, I live on a boat, which is obviously more enclosed than an open space, so your mileage may vary. However, in my use case, this is honestly the best thing I've bought this year so far. This is very efficient, it says it draws 1.2kw, but I've measured it at most to be 900w. Again, more enclosed space, but very ideal if you're like me and are limited to power consumption.I didnt use the default window kit, i found it to be far too big for my windows, I simply removed the pane of glass and stuck the exhaust port out of the window, and that works just fine.In terms of noise, it isn't exactly the quietest thing in the world, but compared to the noisy American HVAC's that I'm used to, this is comparatively quiet. It sounds more like a loud fridge, so if you can sleep hearing that you shouldn't have any issues.Absolute bargain if you ask me, it doesn't feel cheap or that they've cut corners, it's a solid product that will no doubt last.

A life saver
First I would like to commend the seller - the best customer service I've ever experienced from an online retailer. Second, yes the unit is noisy but who cares when you have a cool house inside when it's 35- 40°c heat outside. We didn't even break a sweat during this heatwave (currently ongoing at time of writing this) and my little dog now sleeps comfortably without panting uncontrollably. We keep it downstairs because we work from home so upstairs is unaffected but because we stay cool in the day, nights aren't nearly as uncomfortable. It's expensive but worth every penny. My advice is to make sure you get the right size "BTU" for your space. Search "BTU calculator" and it will help you choose the right machine vs the dimensions of the room you wish to place it in.

Not so bad but noisy
Item arrived at the time with perfect condition.Worried about other review with broken wheel but I had lucky.Operating about a day and mostly fine. Nicely control temperature but problem is the noise..Like every AC unit, this one also create a bit big noise when machine kicking to chase up lower temperature. Not much recommend if you living in flat with neighborhood down stair. If you living on house and try cooling down single room, then it's perfect choice !
