Easy to set up. Does its job!

I didn’t buy this to use with a child, i bought it for my new pup that I wanted to make sure stayed out of a certain part of the home. Shes about 20lbs and a high jumper, but this gate has been amazing in keeping her out of spaces where she shouldn't go. It was pretty easy to install. I don't often read direction manuals bc I find they usually suck/are more confusing than helpful, but these were straightforward and cleared up my confusion about one step. I do recommend buying wall bumpers. These helped keep the gate firmly in place without any risk of scuffing my walls. As i read in other reviews, the gate latch is a little challenging to open at times (mostly when your arms are full), but you get used to it quickly and it isn’t something i even think about anymore, but at first- I do agree that it feels a little tight/needs a bit more effort than I expected. Also, trust whats advertised- what seems like a gaping space before its tightened in place does resolve itself once secured. It made me anxious at first, but worked out to fit perfectly and that seemingly inappropriate gap closed when in place. Again, i purchased this for a pet, but think its a great product and well constructed. Hope this helps!!

We have this model at the bottom of our stairs and it works great. Very sturdy. I used the double sided tape on the end cap and it does not move when the toddler shakes the gate. The latch takes some getting used to but it's not too difficult even for one hand. Auto close and hold open are great features.Difficult to assemble, though, and get into place. Still could not get one of the extension connecting pins to seat all the way in the frame. There's a slight give at this pin but it's not compromising.This model did not work for the top of the stairs unfortunately. We habe banisters on either end with some molding work on the bottom that affects the opening length, making it different from top to bottom by about an inch. This put us right in between the size guide, slightly too big for one extension combo and too small for the next extension combo. I thought I could make it work using different end caps on the top, but I could not sufficiently close the latch gap and the amount of tension started to make one of the banisters lean on top. I abandoned. Besides, it would have had the bottom bar across the top step which I wasn't excited about.

I bought this gate for my special needs kid that would go into kitchen and look for anything to play with. There were barely any reviews on this gate but from the company's description, this was a a gate that would work. So far, the gate has been working very well. It is very sturdy even with just the tension screws and no drilling of walls. The self-lock swinging door is exactly what we needed especially when both hands are occupied with plates and bowls of food coming in and out of the kitchen. Also, there is no place for my kid to step up on the gate like a ladder and reach over and climb. Lastly, a great value, for this well-crafted gate. Only drawback, not made in U.S.A.

We have this at the top of our stairs and it’s the only non-drill mount I trust! It’s so tight it’s actually pushing my baseboard trim into my wall, and it held back my two 70lb dogs easily so I am super confident my kiddo will not be able to fall through or push this down the stairs. Love the auto close feature and the stay open. Toddleroo is 100% my favorite baby gate brand. Bought the same thing for doorway of toddlers room and if I buy any more it’ll be the same brand. Nothing else is as sturdy as this one! I’ve sent other brands back because this one is perfect and it’s the only one I trust with my child’s safety!

My gate arrived bent and a replacement was suppose to arrive in 2 days.. I just received a notice that it won't arrive now until 10 pm tomorrow. If I didn't need this gate I would just return it.

I own at least 6 baby gates and this is the BEST. Absolutely love it.

Update: After trying other baby gates, this turned out to be better and safer and also sturdier. Still do not like the part that it wasn’t clear that it needs to need screwed. However, on the same floor and between rooms, we just pressure mounted and it seems to be alright for now. It’s definitely not the gate that can be opened by a toddler and that is quite important for us. We liked the safety feature so much so that we actually ended buying another gate with 30” high as well. Hope these gates do provide the intended safety for the next few years without having to drill the wall.————————————————————————We have had a pet/baby gate that we have been using for a while for our baby bedroom and now that our baby wants to explore more of the home, we needed another baby gate and brought this Toddleroo by North States Bright Choice Auto-Close Gate .Unfortunately, this gate needs drilling wasn’t mentioned on the product page. In fact, the product page mentions that no drilling is needed while the manual clearly shows on page 2, wall cups, part D that needs to be drilled to hold door securely in place. We are absolutely not interested in drilling holes for a door that will be used, say may for a year or so. Disappointed!
