I purchased this along side the matching bookcase and the review for this item is nearly identical. I am happy with this desk, it is very large and spacious. It appears just like the photo shown. It took minimal time to construct and the instructions were virtually flawless. Just as with the bookcase, there were no pilot holes for the x-braces and a very minor misalignment occurred. It does not take away from the over all look, but is frustrating when this problem could be solved by having pre-drilled holes just like all the other holes required for assembly have. This along with the matching bookcase will match our rustic industrial theme well.The packaging was adequate. You will have plenty of cardboard and styrofoam to throw away after unpacking. It was too heavy for me to lift by myself, I'd say their 50lb packaging weight is accurate. I was surprised/pleased that this item was able to be delivered by our standard UPS driver not freight. It was a large awkward sized package.One item, that is worth noting: You will likely have to assemble this desk in the room where you plan to use it as it is wide enough that it does not fit through standard door frames. If you have an open floor plan this may be a non-issue. A couple measurements can tell you if this will be a problem for you.
