I'm a flashlight addict, or is it that I have a flashlight fetish? Heck, I dunno, but I added this flashlight to my sack o' 200+ flashlights because in a video about "the top ten flashlights in 2023" the Anker Bolder not only made the list, but the reviewer also said the Bolder was one of the few of the ten top models that tested to an honest 900 lumens (that be a bright flashlight). I was so pleased with this light bought a second one so both my e-bikes now have super bright "headlights." Tip: Although the battery appears built-in and non-removable, that's not accurate. The 18650 battery is user removable. Technique: twist open the top cap, which you do to access the micro-USB charging port. You will see a knurled cap. I had to use a pair of pliers to GENTLY twist the cap off. Doing that revealed that this light has a generic (no brand name) 18650 battery. That's a feature because that means you can take a few spare 18650 batteries with you in the SUV or on the boat and never be short on battery power. Not much else to say about the light. I did put some metal tape around the edge of the lens end. This to cover the jagged edge that's there for self-defense. I find that jagged edge more of a hindrance than anything else. I don't like that kind of edge because it is a hazard. Too easy for it to injure, for example, if it drops on to the floor and hits my dog's head, or cuts my foot open. No thank you. The beam on this light is bright and on its narrow focus throws a looooooooooooooooooooong distance. You will love that kind of performance, I guarantee. And overall, this is a quality-made light. It feels like a $100 flashlight (I know because I have a few of those). Bottom Line: I have a lot of Anker products bought over the past 15 years, including about 20 of their USB phone chargers (Highly recommend you check those out. They work very well.) So I bought this with confidence in the Anker name. Buy this flashlight guys, I bet like me, after getting your first one you will be buying another two or three.

Anker makes very high quality products and is one of the most reputable Amazon brand type products I’ve ever used! Boulder Flashlight Review: Thank U Anker for providing HONEST LUMEN RATINGS unlike sooo many flashlight brands on Amazon claiming 1000-100000 lumens when they only output 10-30% of that. These Anker Boulder lumen ratings seem extremely Acura TE if anything I would say they are brighter than their rating. I own both Boulder lights this 900lumen zoom able and the 400lumen which is my favorite it is much smaller and still super bright and rechargeable. They are both tough lights I use the 400lumen at work almost daily for Tig welding on tool steel. Put this flashlight in a magnetic flashlight holder stick it to the die and now I can weld for 1.5 hours easy on high light with the 400lumen. The 900lumen can do that for about 3 hours. It os very bright light and make welding much easier in darker places. I use it hunting or taking dog out. Then just put it on the charger and it’s good again. Easily one of the better flashlights I’ve ever owned and for the price it is the best. My stream light pro tac AA is still my favorite but it’s also $40 and half as bright as the 400 lumens. It is still the most rugged tough light I’ve ever owned . I’m on my second one I wear it on me at work every day. I like having a light that I can just put batteries in when needed also so if needed I can. My work provides AA batteries . I have dropped it roughly 40 times. Falling out of mag holders or falling or rolling off stuff. It still work it is amazing. Well these Anker boulders are not that tough but they are still very tough. They can also handle being dropped. They seem to have a limit though I had one fail where u really have to shake it or tap it to get it to light but it took a beating. The quality is great the price is great. Can’t go wrong. A stream light like this would cost 4-5times the price. I can’t afford to buy a bunch of stream lights especially when these perform soo good do a great price.

These flashlights throw a powerful beam and are rechargable via usb C. These are high quality flashlights and stay charged for quite a while. I have purchased two of these and will buy more to put in vehicles and have around the house.

Nice light. I bought two, a few years apart. The first I like better--you can actually replace the battery yourself if desired. They glued the battery in on the new model which I do not appreciate. Though you can easily break the glue bond with some cushioned pliers and replace the battery if necessary (videos available), tho this will likely void your warranty (and Anker is historically very good with warranties). Light travel/intensity is great for my general purposes chasing cows out of my back yard and one for the truck, and tests show the stated lumens are accurate, unlike 95% of flashlights sold online. High beam is nicely bright on a full charge but dims somewhat after 5 min on high, or so. Still bright, just not maximal. The adjustable beam is very nice, though I wouldn't complain if the tightest beam was even narrower. I like this flashlight very much. I bought two. However, I have two primary complaints: 1) You must cycle through the 3 steady-beam intensity levels, the strobing level, and the (silly?) "SOS" level to return to the highest beam. This can be obnoxious. Personally, I need high beam always. I would probably not even mention it if it had 3 steady beam levels you had to cycle through. But for me, the strobe, although bright and obnoxious, isn't going to stop any determined attacker, and the "SOS" signal just seems silly and unlikely to ever see any practical use, even if you get lost in the woods or break down on a dark highway. Ok, but I knew this when I bought the second unit, so obviously I can live with it. 2) Battery compartment redesign so you 'cannot' access and change the battery. This is a major flaw in my opinion, and the reason I probably won't buy a third light for myself or for gifts unless this is reverted. Both older and new styles unscrew at the rear to expose a USB plug-in port for recharging (takes a couple hours to refill). Ok, unusual but I can live with it. The older model also would unscrew to reveal the battery that could be changed out immediately with a spare to get you right back into use. The new model has the battery compartment glued shut so nope, no spares for you--unexpectedly out of juice in the dark woods? Tough--find someplace to charge it for awhile. Naaah, no thanks. That also means that your flashlight is a disposable flashlight because when the battery dies, and it will eventually die (after they start degrading noticeably in battery life), you 'cannot' replace it. That makes it a very expensive flashlight. Anker's got a great 18-month warranty on most of their products that is admirable. But this is planned obsolescence that is not appreciated. On the old model if your battery failed after 18 months no big deal, just pop in a new one. On Anker's new model if it fails after 18 months, well, guess you gotta buy a new flashlight. Ridiculous and transparent. And not appreciated. It's also nice to be able to carry spare flashlight batteries camping and such and not having to wait hours for a recharge (if even possible while camping--certainly not convenient). Nice light. Good company and warranty. Crummy redesign that lowers its value.

I've had this flashlight since 2021 and it still works great, we use it daily to take the dogs outside..it's been accidentally dropped numerous times and still no problems with it at all, takes a little while to charge, but stays charged for a very long time, worth every penny.. I would absolutely recommend this...

Let me start off by saying this flashlight is a beast! From a solid build to brightness and everything in between. I will start with build. The weight is just right, not too heavy, but not so light you feel like you have to be gentle with it. I like the one handed focus adjustment for the beam. At fist I didn't think I would ever use this feature, but it comes in handy. If I am standing on my deck I can use it like a flood light to see my whole yard. If I want to see what is going on a block away and piss off my neighbors it will get the job done. Size wise, it does fit in my pockets with no trouble, however I would say that it is still too bulky to be used as an EDC light for those wondering. Most of the time it sits by my bed as an emergency light.The things I could get picky about for build would be that since it doesn't need to fit in my pocket they could have added a bit more texture to the handle for added grip. The other thing would be the add something to it to keep it from rolling away when laying it down on a flat surface. Moving right into brightness I will advise other people not to do what I did when it arrived and that was to look right at it and turn it on to see if it came with a charge. It did! Once I regained my vision I tested it out around the house and in my garage. The thing I like about it, besides being obscenely bright was the color of the light. It is a nice white light not one that has that odd yellow hue to it. Another nice function that Anker added is that it will remember the last setting you were on when you turn it on again without having to go through them all to find the setting you want. When it comes to making a quality battery Anker has got it down and the one in the flashlight is no exception. It does take a couple hours to get a full charge and as long as I am using low or medium brightness it has always lasted as long as I need it. I am sure if you're using it on high your battery time will be reduced significantly, but for around the house high is almost too much. The standby time seems to do well also. It can sit there for a month at a time and still has a great charge. This came in especially handy when we had a power outage that started at 9pm and lasted all night. I just grabbed the Anker flashlight off the shelf and could light up my whole room with it. I would recommend this flashlight to someone that is needing a solid emergency flashlight for around the house, to keep in your car, or for a B.O.B.. If you are looking for more of an EDC flashlight I would suggest looking at Anker's smaller 400 lumen flashlight. I hope this review will be helpful in your prepping needs.

There’s very few items I buy once, that I wind up buying twice. This is one of them. For starters, I’ve had a very similar flashlight gotten at Autozone, which has no label, markings, identifying marks, what have you, for about 5 years. It was also $30 then. 3AA batteries, zoomable, LED based, basically close enough to this flashlight all around. For the entire time I’ve owned it, I had two gripes; moisture would get trapped behind the lens during use in the rain, and the circuitry was always quite shoddy. It would flicker, sometimes go off, things like that. But it was stupidly bright. So bright that I could focus the beam to the top of a 75 foot pine tree, and see it clear as day in pitch black nights, and that was on the low toggle. After the winter storms last year of using it, having to come in and out of the snow every 20 minutes to dry it out, I decided it was time to look for a replacement. Now I had no idea Anker made flashlights. Cables, chargers, sure, I’ve had both, and I’ve still got those products bought 3+ years ago, they work perfect; they just produce quality stuff. Price was the same, feature set was the same, and no AA’s? Slot for a wrist strap? Maintainable components? So I bought one. On low, it’s more than capable of washing the old flashlight’s light out entirely. On high, in a dark room, pointed at the ceiling, you will not need the overhead or room lamps. It’s wildly, perhaps eye damaging, bright. Top that off with a perfectly centered (and domed no less) lens cap and diode, and that’s a recipe for a great flashlight in my book. I’ve only used it briefly in wet conditions so far, but no water was behind the lens cap… So it checked all my boxes. The battery cell being very common, obtainable, without various levels of capacity is also a huge plus; you can likely buy cheap ones from a gas station or vape shop if you needed to in a pinch, and they are not terribly price prohibitive, which was a box I did not know I wanted checked (but, since I had about 8 spares, this turned out to be a major plus for me). I’m not fussed about the tail cap. It looks pretty standard in size and thread type, so at some point I may buy some others and see if they can be interchangeable for the heck of it. And the USB Micro is also very obtainable (and cheap), so that checkbox is accounted for too since I already had one in my daily bag. So all said and told, it exceeded what I wanted, fits my needs and gave me a few options I didn’t know I wanted, and it’s exactly the right price compared to what I had to start. All winner here.

I believe I have 5 of these, and 1 of the larger (longer) one that has more battery capacity. I use them mostly at my ranch for ranch duty and hunting. They're bright as heck, and the adjustable beam (short/flood to long/focused light) is awesome. When extended fully, I can throw light past 100yds! I use them on night hunts for the occasional visibility check or getting through dark areas, constantly banging against my rifle/other gear, gates/fences that I climb, being dropped on rocks, and in dirt, mud... all of them work perfectly. The battery life is great, too. I've never run out of battery, but I also usually charge them after a good day-or-two's use. The battery doesn't take long to charge at all. I'll usually just let it charge overnight, but sometimes I'll throw them on the charger when I come in for the night, and it's usually fully charged within an hour or two. I've also bought a few as gifts and everyone loves them. The only thing that mayyybe could be better is if the batteries were removable, so if I did run out of battery, I could just swap with a new battery instead of having to plug the whole flashlight into the charger. Although, given the price, you can buy a few of these flashlights, which is a good idea anyways. Plus, I've yet to run out of battery yet anyways, so the internal battery is fine just the way it is in my opinion.
