Perfect replacement remote
This is a Motorguide remote and works great on my Xi5 trolling motor. Comes with a nice Motorguide lanyard to hang around your neck. Easy to understand instructions on back of remote and easy to connect remote with trolling motor. This seller had a very competitive price to begin with and offered a 15% discount. Works great and enjoying my time out on the water.

Compatible and works!
I got this remote replacement for our boat. It arrived securely package and intact. What I like is that it's made from quality materials that function just like the original. It's compatible with our first one, and has great battery life. I do not see any reason I would not be able to recommend this remote to anyone looking for one. Overall I'm very happy with this item. It's a great value compared to factory items

Worked two months
Bought this in November when I got my boat serviced. I paired it and all was good. Started fish the last two weeks of April and a couple of weeks in May. Went to use it in June and it would not work properly. Changed the batteries and repaired it. Made the trolling motor work erratic. The remote was stored in a dry location when not in use. Wish I had waited to buy it during fishing season so I could have returned it. I bought a generic cheaper remote and it is working like a charm. I guess I wasted $143.00.

Two of them have completely stopped working
I've bought two of these now over the course of 2 years, so I have over $200 invested into two pieces of useless plastic with a surprisingly basic PCB inside. No water intrusion, no rust, no physical abuse, they just stop working at random and never recover. No amount of resetting or button holding will bring them back to life. Both times I have talked to Motorguide customer service, and both times I have been told that the controller has just died. Oh, but it's covered under warranty for a year! Except, to take advantage of that, I would have to bring it to a Motorguide dealer/service center for a replacement. The closest such service center to me is over 3 hours drive away, and they will need to hold onto my motor for at least two weeks before they can even verify if it's warranty-able, THEN order the new controller and wait for that to come in. So I will be without a trolling motor on my boat for about a month and have to drive 12 total hours, just to replace this worthless piece of junk that cost me over $100 and lasted 4 trips to the lake. Tl/Dr: I should've just bought a Minnkota and been happy.
