Differences are not always a disaster
Wow , a brilliantly written book. It was an easy read, lots going on, you could imagine it all for real. The characters were life like, I could imagine how the scenery looked as the characters too. Loved the happy ending. Makes you realise that the truth is always the better option. Thank you for a well written, light hearted book.

A enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was easy to read and follow along with the characters and their journeys. It showed some great character progression and you really learnt to understand and enjoy the characters. There are moments of confusion, of happiness, of anger and of sadness - all which you as a reader feel with the characters them selves. A fab read.

Great uplifting read
Loved the unfolding developing tale on the two very different females in the book . I total surprise on how they finally meet each other with the added twist of a new character they end up meeting. Really enjoyed the book will be looking up more by Louise Guy .

Ok .. wasn’t gripped
Nothing particularly exciting happens , a nice story with some mild drama going on. I scanned through several pages as conversation seemed to waffle on at times, unnecessarily. No juicy bits! I like the writers style though , just wish it had some exciting events going on.

Inspiring read
I don't usually read this sort of book, but the title encouraged me to open it and have a peep inside. Was pleasantly surprised and devoured it in a day. I too am a widow and could relate to one character in particular and that was Florrie. A delightful read on a wet miserable day.

Another easy and engaging read by Louise Guy
Another great book by this author and similarly full of various characters and storylines but all easy and enjoyable to follow. An unlikely friendship between three women with very different lives who meet doing community service - one for a speeding ticket she couldn’t pay as a young widow, another for shoplifting despite having plenty of money but other issues, and the other for other reasons that are later revealed. Mix in secrets past and present, relationships soured and started, three very likable women and a good mix of mostly good people with a few that are less so, and it’s a nice balance for a light enough read that also touches on heavier topics around grief, alcohol, men behaving inappropriately or worse towards women, and generally being at one’s wit’s end. Still, it manages to stay light and focused on how things change for the women is heartwarming that they have one another.I could’ve done with far less of knowing how very often a particular couple has sex and cringed a bit because I just don’t really need to hear about someone’s hand down someone’s pants when it’s not really a romance novel, but OK. There are some things that are a bit unrealistic, but some suspension of disbelief is rewarded with a nice story that is easy to read, holds interest, and wraps up in a satisfying way.The narration was as excellent as it’s been with the other books I’ve read by the same author.

A Beautiful Book.
Not all books cope with being re read. I love Louise Guy's work and this is a lovely book. A series of possibly improbable happenings come together to bring reality to an unreal position. Two completely different people become great friends, meeting after unusual occurrences bring them together. They connect with Florrie, an elderly and somewhat mystical person and together mend their broken hearts and difficult situations. Family relationships that are almost fractured and relationships that could be blown apart are healed with the caring of these three unlikely friends.Even though the situation where they find themselves meeting sounds almost fanciful, it works beautifully. The three friends become more "family" than their own families and through caring and genuine love help each other to heal and to reconnect with their own families. Louise's work shows authenticity and depth with unlikely characters becoming real. A beautiful book.

Good read
I enjoyed this book. It wasn’t predictable, but kind of slow. I gave a four star because of the slowness and the ending. I sometimes do no like books ending on nonessential characters. Florrie played a good role, but not a major one. Overall a good book.
