I bought the combo purple and tortoise shell - the purple is pretty, not loud and the tortoise shell is just a clear brown, not mottled. I had an old Goody brand clip that worked well, but the prongs were breaking. I tried replacing that one with the same brand/style but the quality was not up to snuff. This brand is great - it holds a lot of hair, it's not stiff to open and it works with a wide variety of styles - I can put up half my hair or all of it, doubled, and it stays put.

Quality wasn’t bad, just that the purple color looked in real life as black

I bought the purple and amber set in April 2018. Worked wonderfully until May 2022 when the amber clip broke. Oh well, 4 years of almost daily use is a pretty good run for this sort of product and the 4 year old purple clip is still going strong in my thick hair as I write this review.Well, after the amber clip broke I decided I still wanted a couple more clips so I ordered the set of black and gray in May 2022. Both of the new clips have already broken with normal use. I'm not sure if the quality has gone down in the last 4 years, if the black and grey clips are inherently weaker somehow, or if I just got lucky with the first set and unlucky with the second.Anyway, if you get 4 years of heavy use out of these, I'd say they are definitely worth the money. 3 months of use? Not so much. It's a gamble.

Ive been using this for years. It did break and this is my 3rd time purchasing it but 2 clip always lasts total about 1.5 years. It might sound like it didn't last long but for my long thick hair, this has been the only one that actually last more than 3 months. Ive tried so much different cheaper and high review clips but all didn't work for me. Just this.

I bought these because of the glowing reviews for thick hair and they don't disappoint. My hair is thick ( was once called "horsehair" by a stylist in my younger years) and the layers have grown out thanks to the state's stay-at-home orders. It's now summer and hot. I want to wear my hair up but have a cast on my left arm due to wrist surgery preventing me from styling in the normal pony. Claw Clips to the rescue. I can twist my hair and use the clip without depending on my husband to pull my hair off my neck with only one wrist. Highly recommended.
