Review: I purchased the book mainly because I needed something next to McMeekin's book "Stalin’s War". Stalin’s War made me feel uncomfortable so I wanted to check certain things. The Cambridge History turned out to be no help at all. One example: Maybe somewhere deeply hidden there is something about the Morgenthau Plan, but I couldn’t find anything in the 2500 pages, it’s not in the indexes and a subject oriented search via the table of contents doesn’t give any result either. On the other hand there is a five page analysis of Thomas Mann's novel "Doctor Faustus", what do you expect from a history book? So I just went back to good old Wikipedia and decided to raise my periodic donation to the platform and buy less books in the future. Review: This is an outstanding series on WW 2. Comprehensive-has essays on all relevant issues. Very readable essays. Highly recommended.
