Your true potential
Amy writes in a beautifully simple, relatable and above all, caring way. The wealth of stories shared from her personal life and practice illustrate that while we all have our trials and tribulations, we are not defined by any experience. This book is an invitation to just pause and question the truth of the thinking we experience. It encourages us to be open to possibility. To be open to a life which is far less limited than we had imagined. When we hear truth, it creates a lovely feeling that may be difficult to put into words. I have that feeling when reading this book and can’t recommend it highly enough to anyone wanting to reconnect with the happiness and peaceful feeling that is the birth-right of all.

Wonderful book
Amy is so skilled at making sense of life and re-expressing ancient ideas in new and relevant ways. This is a wonderful book and, like her podcasts and videos which I have enjoyed for years, it is thoughtful, kindly and generous.

Reset Your Life
I had already read Amy Johnson's "Being Human" and "The Little Book Of Big Change" and the latter especially had served to introduce me into a whole different way of thinking about myself and my supposed problems. As I've learned, though, with Amy there's always more, and this latest book of hers unpeals yet another layer of the onion skin of the sheer wrongheadedness of most people's conception of "the way we tick". The book is called "Just A Thought" and I've heard Amy talking about how against this title she was when it was first proposed, but that's where she's (unusually) downright wrong. "Just a thought" says it all, both literally and metaphorically, and you either get it or you don't. But the brilliant thing is, once you do get it, you've got it for good, you can't un-get it. And if anyone is the one to help you get it, that's Amy Johnson. What she's saying is so simple, so impossibly simple, that it might take a while to sink in due to our presently misconceived "sophisticated" understanding of human psychology. It might take a while for us to realise that - What? You mean all my psychoanalysing and ruminating over the past and looking for the answer, the root cause, or even someone to blame, has all been for nothing? Yes. And if you don't want to waste any more of your time wallowing in the unreal, I recommend you read this book.

Life Changing Information
I have been a fan of Dr. Amy for a long time - I have followed her youtube videos, been enrolled in her course and and have her other book as well. It is a great, unique perspective on dealing with stresses, addiction, and self acceptance. I have a wide array of books on the subject which are all similar (REBT) where they tell you to challenge negative thoughts, where Amy gives a whole new perspective.

Clear. Usable. Warm. Brilliant!
This practically pocket-sized book is like having a wise, loving friend in your own back pocket. The book is an inviting conversation, and you finish your visit with your smart, caring friend suddenly seeing yourself and the world more clearly. It’s somehow both a wake-up call and a comfort. You read the book and come out the other side thinking to yourself “Ohhhhhhh… Right…! I see that now!” And so now that you “get it,” you can relax and not stress over what stressed you out before. You realize you have a lot more freedom, energy and space than when you used to chase your own confused thinking! The information rings so true, but the author also helps us USE the understanding she presents. Part of the charming way she does this is by including very sweet, human-being-in-actual-life examples from her relationships with her kids, husband, clients and colleagues. And the snapshots of her life and how she herself uses the book’s concepts are so profoundly moving in their realness and their simplicity.Chapter 9 on discomfort was magic for me! It was just the right medicine at the right moment. But the truth is that I underlined probably at least a quarter of the sentences in the whole book! Each line is worthy of being its own meme. So many of her single sentences are loaded with wisdom and depth worthy of being explored. Each could easily be expanded into a separate essay on its own. But this is part of the author’s genius – she encapsulates whole, profound, essay-worthy concepts into these brilliant one-liners that we can easily tuck into our heart pockets and carry with us into our lives. “Just A Thought” is “just” a rich, softly powerful book that really can help you suffer less and enjoy your life more. I hope you give yourself the gift of this warm, smart book to yourself and your friends. And I hope you laugh and see together how much freer you are than you thought.

Absolutely CLEAR & SIMPLE WISDOM to relish.
This book contains PURE WISDOM & COMMON SENSE, and points to a UNIVERSAL UNDERSTANDING of PEACE OF MIND, KINDNESS (LOVE), CONTENTMENT, COMPASSION and EVERY HEALTHY FEELING, that exists in the infinite REALM OF POSSIBILITY.We are each born PERFECT, and the Thoughts/Thinking that we each CHOOSE INNOCENTLY, either CONDITION each one of us into living from FEAR; or RE-CONDITION each of us into living NATURALLY and FEARLESSLY, in the PRESENT MOMENT, MOMENT TO MOMENT, UNCONDITIONALLY.This UNIVERSAL UNDERSTANDING, and how we each function, is contained within this book, and is attainable by EVERYONE - the only requirement is being ALIVE.Amy Johnson is a GEM, and this book needs to be read by everybody, especially by Psychologists, Psychiatrists, the entire Medical fraternity and everyone involved in the helping professions - which includes everyone else !!This book reflects the TRUE NATURE of life and living, just as being KIND to others, reflects back on us, ALWAYS (as too, being UNKIND) !!Despite what too many people innocently THINK personally, this book helps to show that,“LOVE DOES MAKE THE WORLD GO AROUND”.Love and kind regards, Tony

The missing key
After life long investigation and curiosity about who we really are and who we are not is excellently presented by Dr. Amy Johnson. No to do lists but rather a shift in perspective. Life feels freer because I know that is how it really is. Thinking happens, but I see it for what it is.I highly recommend this book and her website for further reading and listening. Thank you Amy 💜

Simple and profound
Amy has a unique talent for explaining concepts that can be difficult to put into words—about how our mind, through thought, is creating our human experience—and how our true self is not that experience, but much, much more. These are the same deep spiritual truths that have been talked about through the ages, and is life-changing information in the most exciting way possible! The chapters are short and easy to read, and Amy uses both real life examples, and metaphors to help the reader “see” the truths that lie beyond what our tricky, chattering mind and physical senses are telling us.Don’t be surprised if you feel like your self-help search is over after you read this book—the depth to which it speaks is the real deal, and subsequent readings are likely to reveal even more over time.
