Flimsy hardware - knob broke from lid under normal use
Update- I did an exchange for a new teapot. That process was too easy and fast. UPS'd the one with the defective knob yesterday and received the new one today. Seems like the lid on this one is far less tight, so I'm feeling good about the knob staying on. I bumped it up to 5 stars. I just really like the infuser, the teapot shape, and size (not too big). Glad it worked out that I ended up with it. -------- I originally bought this tea pot for a gift. If the Amazon delivery person didn't toss the box onto my driveway and crush the outer and inner product box, my friend would have been writing this review, not me. Anyhow, since the teapot inside the product box was really well insulated with foam it survived the ordeal. So, I decided to keep it and give a gift card to my friend. Now, after only 3 days of use the knob on the lid came apart. What a disappointment. The knob is fastened to the lid with what looks like a regular 3/4" steel wood screw. Inside the knob's base is some sort of plastic and that broke apart dislodging small pieces of plastic that contaminated a good Japanese Sencha brew. Apart from this unfortunate product failure I really like the teapot. The borosilicate glass body holds up well - I used it with Medium heat on our electric stove top and in our microwave oven. I like the look, which is why I purchased it for a gift. The infuser is stamped with 304 which is more like 18% chromium and 8% nickel, that is 18/8, versus the 18/10 mentioned in the Amazon description. No big deal to me. The infuser works well keeping the leaves and grit away from the beverage and it is also easy to clean. Now I have to decide what to do with the teapot, as I can't use it without a knob to remove the lid.

Great teapot!
I LOVE this teapot! Bought 5 years ago, it’s still going strong, even after being used daily. The strainer function works well with all kinds of loose tea, from peppermint to rooiboos to green. I stick the glass pot in the microwave to reheat. And it’s easy to clean. Functional, durable and a lovely design. Would buy again and again.

An excellent pot with just two quirks
This is an elegant and functional little teapot. that I use every day in my home office. I have two minor criticisms that make me give it 4 instead of 5 stars. First, to use it in a microwave, you need to remove the metal lid, strainer, and ring that fits over the glass rim of the teapot. The metal ring fits very snugly over the rim of the teapot, so taking it on and off, especially when the teapot is full of hot water, is a pain. Second, the handle on the top of the metal lid, which fits snugly, gets very hot when the pot is full. It's a pain to remove the lid to take out the tea leaf strainer when the pot is full of hot water. The pot works best when you pour already-hot water into it and then leave the lid slightly ajar until it's time to take out the tea leaves.

Beautiful, elegant, functional teapot. I absolutely LOVE it!
This is the most beautiful teapot I have ever owned. The filter is wonderful; the holes are so fine that even the smallest tea leaves do not get through. I love that the filter basket can be removed when the tea is done steeping, and yet the lid can be replaced. The pot looks elegant with or without the filter. The collar, lid and filter basket fit perfectly into the pot, and the filter has a little metal handle that allows it to be inserted and removed with ease. The pouring spout is wonderful. It has a nice opening - not too narrow, not too wide, and pours a delicate stream with no drips! (The tea even SOUNDS pretty when it is poured from this spout. Sort of musical.) There is little notch in the end of the spout, which seems to prevent dripping. The size of the teapot is just right; you could probably get 4-5 medium-sized cups of tea from a full pot. (Any more than that, and it would turn ice cold before you had a chance to drink it, anyway. Supposedly, you can heat this pot on a gas or electric burner, but I wouldn’t dare.) The handle is very comfortable to hold while pouring, and gets warm but not hot. My only concern about the teapot is that the glass is very thin and delicate. I am afraid it would crack very easily if I were to bump it againt the faucet or any other hard surface. The instructions that come with the pot warn you to be very careful with the teapot when handling it, and they recommended that you store it in the original packaging (in a bubble wrap bag, placed inside a box). That is what I am doing, and I would advise everyone else who purchases this teapot to do likewise. Fortunately, the box is not very big, and it will not take up much room in your cupboard. When setting the teapot down on the kitchen counter, I am careful to cushion with a towel or discloth it so that it doesn’t break. (If you have granite, marble or cement countertops, that will be a must.) I realize all of this special handling probably sounds like too much work, but it’s really no trouble at all. I would not hesitate to purchase this item again, for myself or for a gift. Heck, I like it so much that I may pick up one or two spares, just in case I break it some day. At only $17.99, it’s a steal!

Very pretty and functional
I’m surprised at the value on this , and a great size for what I needed. Easy to load the tea leaves and flavor after steeping has been very good.

No very thick and the spout broke so I had to throw it out not thick enough for a teapot

It is perfect for couple of tea cups. It looks very fragile but it handled well the boiling water! The filter is thick and no residue is transfer in the tea.
