Godly and Birdly. LOVE IT!
Christina's work isn't unknown to me as we work together on running a poetry group and reading each other since a long time on Medium, and otherwise. Though organic is a much organized version of her work, usage of words, creating exceptional imagery and keeping the reader hooked till the end is what she masters. My favourites from this collection would be the last poem - God and Birds, Invidia, Cockroach in bathwater in addition to the world without butterflies and birds. Lovely work, POM head, read this collection back to back. Keep it up. God Bless you. ❤️

An Epiphany For Me
I have never really considered myself a fan of poetry, mostly because my exposure to it was limited to what I considered boring and ancient writers using dead words I did not understand or the syruppy 'every-other-line' rhyming lyrical drivel. But lately I have found interesting and compelling words crafted by masters unknown to me that grip my attention and coax me in to read, understand, absorb, and let settle into my soul. I discovered Christina by accident on a social website and after hearing about her line of work, decided to check out her first book. And am I happy I did! This book is short and is a very easy read. I was tempted to zip through it like a novel, but each of the works made me slow down and savor the words, the sentences, and stanzas. They are crafted in such a way that you WANT to let them in slowly and deliberately so they play in your mind, invoking images and feelings that are unexpected. For me, when the "meaning" of the work struck me, I was riveted. Never before have words had such an impact on me, and I have no problem recommending this book to anyone who likes to be pleasantly affected like I was. Bravo, Christina!

An engaging read!
Christina Ward has a lovely way with words. Some beautiful poetry in this collection!I especially loved A Way With Words, The Quiet Hours and The Words We Say. This book is my first foray back into poetry after a long time, and I'm glad I began with it. The poems in it remind me of how words can be carefully crafted into pieces of art. Recommended reading for poetry lovers!

transcendent poetry rooted in gritty details
Christina Ward’s Organic is a gorgeous collection of poetry deeply rooted in place and sensory detail—the sound of bird wings, the smell of spring flowers, the sting of shame, the taste of soup sipped from a bowl. Ward’s deft touch allows familiar, personal details to broaden into universal themes of love, loss, hope, despair, determination, and rebirth. But enough of my words—I suggest you read the ones Christina Ward has so beautifully arranged in Organic.

I Can Smell Home
This book reminds me so much of home, which is Savannah, Georgia, as well as where I currently live, which is Winston- Salem, North Carolina. I can see, smell, touch, and taste the scenes created in every flawless poem. Christina has done an excellent job weaving life into every poem and giving the reader a glimpse of what our beautiful state has to offer. This just lifted my spirits. I am certain it will do the same for yours.

Beautiful imagery and relatable experiences
I gave my first copy to my cousin for Christmas because I knew she would enjoy it and then immediately bought myself another copy. Relating childhood memories, sweet Southern nostalgia and the challenges of every day working class life to the complexities of nature and growth each of us experience are what make this book a fantastic read. I highly recommend this book for poetry lovers, nature enthusiasts and everyone in between.
