Great Movie. Should Have Been Subtitled "Ten Ways To Santiago"
I really like this movie. Some viewers may have watched "The Way," with Martin Sheen (also a very fine flick), and wonder whether it is worth it to sit through "Walking the Camino: Six Ways To Santiago." It is well worth it, as this movie may have the same venue as "The Way," but it is very different in other respects: real-life characters, not actors; different stories being told by each of the participants. Each of the walkers held and maintained my interest throughout the movie.I do have one quibble. The title of this film should have been "Walking the Camino: Ten Ways To Santiago," as four other walkers had significant screen time in the movie: Tatiana's brother and son, Alexis and Cyrian; Martha, the Asian woman who sang in a church and said "I can be brave," and William, the walking partner (maybe also a love interest) of Misa.

The absolute best Camino documentary
Wow: Here's a documentary on the Camino de Santiago Compestela that finally gets it right. Rather than random footage of pilgrim sites and narration of historical tidbits, this 84-minute movie keeps it real: It simply follows six different pilgrims on the medieval Catholic pilgrimage route from France to the tomb of St. James the Apostle -- blisters and all -- and really lets us get to know them. There are moments of humor, deep emotion, and spiritual illumination on the journey. But the whole thing is suffused, above all, by the firsthand experience of people who have walked hundreds of miles. It's extraordinarily well-edited, too, weaving commentary and the stories of various people seamlessly into the running time. Like "The Way" with Martin Sheen, this film delves into the human realities of people who on the pilgrimage today for various religious and non-religious reasons, but with a tremendous realism and sensitivity that is lacking in that Hollywood film. I've purchased two other Camino documentaries on Amazon which are informative, bargain-basement affairs free of all human interest. This one is the only Camino film worth seeing: Get it and judge for yourself.

"Walking the Camino" is the most authentic reflection of the Camino experience I've seen. I STRONGLY recommend it.
I walked the Camino in 2008. It is an extraordinary, life re-aligning experience.Since then, I have seen several movies, documentaries and books which attempt to convey the sense of the Camino. "Walking the Camino" has been the most authentic reflection of my experience and my favorite.I STRONGLY recommend both watching this video, as well as, walking the medieval pilgrimage route.

Interesting
I’m walking the Camino in May 2022. Ordered this video to watch with curious friends. They personal stories and “why’s “ are typical of what you hear from most people. And can find many on YouTube. I did enjoy watching it with friends. In fact I’ve watched it several times with others. What was really helpful to me was actually seeing some of the terrain and not just the magnificent views. Those foot path segments made me go out and get different boots! The quality of the video/editing was far superior to anything you s we on YouTube. Very professional.

Great Resource
The book packs a huge amount of information about each stage of the Camino including the level of difficulty expected in each stage of walking. Mileage is listed for each stage in both kilometers and miles, and an approximate walking time considering elevation changes. Also included are recommended places for lodging, as well as interesting sites to see along the Way. I can’t imagine planning a Camino without this handy resource. Photographs in color are plentiful. That said, the print is very small for my eyes. Obviously, the goal is to provide an extensive amount of informative in a small and lightweight package.

Excellent and Realistic Portrait of the Camino de Santiago
We of course watched The Way (Martin Sheen) many times. The inspiration led us to go to Spain and walk the last 105km of the Camino de Santiago and obtain the Compostela. Walking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago was recommended to us before we went, but we ran out of time to order it. After we returned we ordered and watched it. It is excellent - more realistic in portraying the pilgrims journey and the trials, tribulations and excitement than The Way. I would highly recommend it for anyone thinking about walking the Camino or who have returned and want to remember what it was like.

great cinematography, but other than that it's just okay
I've walked the Camino Frances a couple of times, and I will say the cinematography of this movie shows it well.I did like a few of the pilgrims in the movie. The two older gentleman walking together, and also the young mother walking with her small son. Most of the rest of them, not so much. All in all not too bad a movie, and worth the three or four bucks I spent to watch it. It does make me long to walk it again. Also, I say to everyone reading this who watched the movie...go and walk it. Walk the Camino.

I enjoyed the diversity of people and would have liked to ...
Walking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago presents the diversity of those who choose the walk. What isn't clear is how they paid for it, which would be interesting. It seems to be an expensive venture and as my grandson adn I watched we both wondered how the people paid for it, as free food and lodging is no longer available due to the number of "pilgrims" on the path. I enjoyed the diversity of people and would have liked to see a senior woman included, as that is my status, and I was surely tempted to do the trip. I enjoyed the older male friends who undertook the journey, marveled at the woman pushing a baby carriage. The stress involved brought out the weaknesses and the strength of the characters and growth is inevitable if one survives.

Ineccepibile Amazon.

Scarso
