too awesome looking for weightlifting
Prior to this shoe, I used Vans skate shoes for weightlifting. I will be comparing it to that.Feel: I decided to wear the shoes without socks on. This might have been a bad idea during the break in phase because the inside is a little rough. It's not that bad because I didn't walk around or run with it on (but I can imagine the pain if I did). This is the first day so I might come back in a month or two and do an update and see if the break in does anything (if it ever did need to be broken in). The Vans skater shoe is a lot more comfy. Then again, apples vs oranges.Fit: I am a size 8.5 but I usually buy a size 9 for casual footwear (this is because your feet expands if you run or walk after a while, but I digress). I went ahead and bought the 8.5 for this one and I have to say that it is true to size. My feet runs wide and this shoe is for the "normal" people. If you also have wide feet, then you know how it is when you wear "normal" shoes. Also, if I were to wear socks, it would be a tight fit. So adjust accordingly. At the gym: I always thought the Vans skater shoes was good for weightlifting because it is flat and does not have those air "shocks" (you know like the running shoes with shock absorbers). However, I tried them on again (the Vans) and there is definitely play on all directions even if slightly. The flat and stiff sole of the Adidas shoes definitely kept me stable and grounded (the soles are very stiff). Naturally (aka barefoot) the feet would be flat on the floor and you are probably thinking that it is unnatural with these shoes on because of the "lift" that the sole gives. That's what I figured too, but, it actually feels good and dare I say better when the heels are slightly lifted. During squats, I felt more load on the heels vs when wearing the flat skater Vans. Same deal when doing deadlifts. I can see why people use "real" weightlifting shoes. I don't want to jump to conclusions in that I squatted 10 lbs more today than last visit to the gym because it could be from other factors. Definitely helped my confidence that I should be less prone to injuries with the correct shoes. I know these are almost 100 bucks but the peace of mind, I believe, is definitely worth it.***Other notes****Style/Looks: Wow, what can I say. I might actually start using this more because it looks too awesome.*Shipping: When I ordered these, there were only 2 sellers. One of them was going to take 3-4 weeks and the other 1-2 weeks. I went with the seller offering 1-2 weeks. It took a while before I got a shipping notice. I think around the 10th day.. then once I got the notice, it took 2 days to arrive. If I had to guess these guys had to order it from China and do a rush shipping afterwards. No big deal. But just so you know and don't get nervous when you don't receive a shipping notice after a week.

Great lifting shoes
I've been lifting in a pair of Safes for powerlifting for the last few years. They were solid shoes, but they were wearing out, and I wasn't too keen on picking up replacements for $190. I'd been looking at the Adistars as well, but similarly, they were expensive and hard to find. Then, I was browsing Adidas' website, and came across these. They looked like just what I needed. Picked up a pair and tried them out - I love them. Definitely a better fit than the Safes. I feel very well supported in my squats, and way more supported at the transition point than I did in the Safes.I've seen some people complain that the heel isn't stiff enough for powerlifting - it hasn't been a problem for me. Perhaps not quite as hard as the block of wood in the Adistars, but I definitely have not been having a problem with the shoes feeling soft or losing any stability for that reason. Definitely recommended, especially for the price.

I pick things up, and put them down
Want to get fit? Improve cardiovascular endurance, increase strength? Pick up heavy things.I don't know how I squatted, cleaned, snatched, or did any other power/olympic weightlifting moves without these shoes. They have a solid sole-feel and a firm heel, keeping you seriously grounded and stable when you pick up heavy things.I wouldn't use them for a competition, though - I've seen denser heels. But for training these are totally legit, and the price is right. And just in case you forget what these are used for, there's a tiny barbell on the velcro strap, and the word 'weightlifting' is printed on the side - way to go Adidas, thanks for the reminder!

Great beginner shoe for olympic lifting
Not sure how to rank these shoes, since it was my 1st purchase for an oly shoe before, but I have to say that I really, really like them. Improved my lifts and technique the very first day I tried them on. Bought a size a little too small (11 when I normally where a 12), but they really feel OK. The gym I work out gets warm, and the leather must stretch, because I now have no problems putting them on. Great buy and great price if you want a starter shoe for olympic lifting.

Outstanding shoes for weightlifting.
The Adidas Men's Powerlift shoes are outstanding for powerlifting or heavy weight lifting. I train using crossfit WODs 6 days a week and on my strength days I use these shoes every time. The shoes provide great stability to initiate hip drive and allow you to use your posterior chain in heavy lifts such as the squat, deadlift and power clean. Before I would lift heavy using my running shoes and I felt myself drifting a tad forward on my squats which put a lot of strain on my knees. The Adidas powerlifting shoes allow me to stay on my heels and generate the force necessary to accomplish big lifts. If you plan on lifting heavy (dealifting 1.5 bodyweight for repetitions, setting new personal records or dialing in your technique) I highly recommend purchasing these shoes.

Shipping took a very long time
The shoes are awesome perfect for Olympic lifting and very affordable. Front row has great pricing, however @ the cost of very extended shipping. It took it a few days under 1 month for me to receive the shoes. I didn't get an update on their ETA till I emailed them my self, and there's no tracking info. The PR person was nice in the email however made no attempt to help the situation and accommodate me, other then tell me the problem. Product is great Front Row sport not so much.Josh

Affordable good quality lifting shoe
These are the first pair of weightlifting shoes I have owned and so far they feel excellent. They are a lot more comfortable than I imagined they would be and feel very secure on my feet. Any type of squat variation is given an extra edge technique wise and I can't wait to see how my olympic lifts are effected. On top of all that they look cooler than the average lifting shoe as well!

Sizing issue
I ordered these in a size 11, but they run more like a 10.5. I've waited three days longer than the return window, so now I'm out of luck. Just be warned: Go a half size smaller.
