Great fun and brilliant at STEM development
The media could not be loaded. We were lucky enough to review two sets from Geomag for Amazon and have really enjoyed building bridges and towers with this set. We were a little concerned when first ordering that the balls were going to be magnetic and that they could have caused an issue if swallowed… Think two magnets floating around your intestine and its not a good idea… thankfully this is not the case and the rods are the magnetic bits and the balls are just steel balls. With the rods being some what harder to swallow and my four year old not taking an interest in sword swallowing just yet we were good to go!We have had great fun playing with this set and it really gets his brain working in constructive ways having to think about polarity along with the magnets and the shapes that you can make working in three dimensions. The one thing that I would heed from the instructions is to make a long rod linking all the polarities together and then insert the ball bearings to make sure you have a strong structure. If you put a positive to a positive they will stick but not be as strong as a link as a neg to a pos etc.It is great fun building shapes and although this set is slightly limited by its number of components you can really get a young mind to start thinking about a box and then outside it!I also like the fact that it is all made from recycled plastic and in the EU so not too far to freight over to the UK, but then with that comes the price which compared to my other favorite overpriced building medium, Lego, makes you cringe a little. It is expensive but the quality is there, as with Lego, and it gets young minds thinking about polarity, magnetism, shapes and structures that are self supporting in a way that Lego can not.Ive done a little video of me doing a quick constructions that you might find helpful and I can say that it has been a pleasure to play with with my four year old and hopefully we will have many more years of fun out of the Geomag world before he outgrows it. Very happy to recommend!

Nice magnetic toy set
This Geomag magnetic constructions is great! My children enjoys playing with this but be sure to supervise your children when playing with this for the magnets which is the connector is a bit small so this is not suitable for very young children. But nice quality. Easy to assemble, Good value for money

Brilliant magnetic blocks
All ages love this toy and can be successful in building it. I would highly recommend this to everyone who either teaches preschool, has a daycare, or has children. My kids love playing with them and creating things. Durable and fun!I love watching my children use their imagination with these magnetic blocks.Recommended!

Great for creativity
This is a really good set, kept my little girl quite for a good few hours.....my other half too. Lots of building possibilities and a really good way to get creative.

You get what you pay for
This is a little on the expensive side considering there could be more pieces to increase possibilities. That said, I'm a strong believer in getting what you pay for and this set is premium quality, no cheap plastic tat here.

for the further structure engineers
The magnetic toys contains different shapes including 20 steel spheres, 28 different colour magnetic rods, 16 different colour triangular base panels, 2 square base panels, and 2 pentagonal base panelsKids can just use their imagination and build anything with it really. It is better to get the set with more number of pieces as you can build more sophisticated structures and explore the potential of this set of toy.Kids like playing this set and explore different ways of constructing, looking at the geometry. This probably will be the inspiration for our future structure engineers. List price of £37.20 is a rather expensive set of toy, but will be a great set for kids who like building things and will definitely stimulate their creativities.

Keeps them busy
Good toy and keeps little ones busy for a good while. It is good to develop their fine motor skills and creativity. You get plenty inside the box to make for a good set.

A bit frustrating but very creative
We've had lots of various connecting toys over the years but this was our first time trying Geomag.it mentions it comes in a plastic box to store at home but this is 2 boxes to store the magnetic pieces whereas the inner plastic pieces are in a bag. The magnets have good strength to them without being too difficult to take apart. My son wanted to build one of the designs with all the pentagons but there are only 2 in this set so although 78 pieces sounds like a lot you need 4rods and 4 balls for a square so they are quickly used up. We also found the inner plastic pieces a but frustrating because they just sit between the magnets - they dont clip into place but provide frames with a bit of stability. If the magnets are a bit 'off' though they easily fall out. If you have younger children you will have too be very careful with the balls. For a those age 4+ though they can get creative with building and explore how magnets work. Trying to get the rods back in the boxes can be a task in itself!
