If this was longer and gave more alignment hole options it would be great. Overall the item did its purpose
The holes did not align due the sash guard being too short. If this was longer and gave more alignment hole options it would be great. Overall the item did its purpose. Just drilling a new hole and it worked perfect.I should have done my research more. These are NOT one size fits all.
Found out after-the-fact that these come in so many shapes and sizes; and have to custom fit your window sash in order to match with the tip of the window balancer.Went to a local window / parts store and they broke out their micrometer and precisely measured all the balancer parts. Then they pulled out the huge ordering catalog of parts (looked like the size of the old Sears catalog!) to find the right part.

This product was absolutely perfect. I am still no DIY expert but I have fixed several of my windows that have had issues and they make the windows open and close smoothly.
