Understanding Computers: Today and Tomorrow: Comprehensive

I am taking a computer course and it is extremely confusing. I rented this book to supplement the course materials, and it is extremely helpful. Everything is written in a very direct, plainspoken way, and all the topics in my other course are covered, but with much more explanation. All the pictures and diagrams in this book are helpful also. It is worth every penny of the rental. It was even downloadable onto my phone so I could study it whenever I had free time.
