Get back in the saddle for more thundering movie excitement spotlighting genre stalwart Tim Holt, star of more than 40 "B" Westerns made for RKO between 1938 and 1952. This gunslinging 5-Disc, 10-Movie Collection showcases the middle years (1943-1950) of that memorable 14-year span. Ride 'em, cowboy fans. Included in the set: SAGEBRUSH LAW (1943), AVENGING RIDER (1943), GUNS OF HATE (1948), INDIAN AGENT (1948), BROTHERS IN THE SADDLE (1949), RUSTLERS (1949), STAGECOACH KID (1949), MASKED RAIDERS (1949), THE MYSTERIOUS DESPERADO (1949) and RIDERS OF THE RANGE (1950). Review: Tim Holt great westerns - Very good movies Review: Good quality. Good stories. - I have all 4 of this set. All, so far are fine, except about 3 minutes of the last movie in the last dvd of that first set. I am now on the fourth to the last movie in the last set...and no more problems. I really value this set. Some people may find them corny but they are very funny to me. ...in the spots where they are supposed to be humorous. Excellent stories, they have been done very well, sharp and clear and sound is fine. Need to increase volume some....but not much. With all four in the set , you have 39 of his movies. I am hoping they make one more set. I believe there are 7 more movies, that he made, that are not in this set of four. Good purchase if you are loving very old westerns, like I do.

THANKS TO WARNER ARCHIVE, WE CAN ONCE AGAIN ENJOY THE TIM HOLT CLASSICS
THANKS, WARNER ARCHIVE, FOR BRINGING TIM HOLT BACK... Back for those who had the opportunity to enjoy these "B" westerns--now considered by a great many fans as "Classics"... and for a whole new generation to enjoy. Having purchased Volume 3 previously, my review for this terrific set of films is the same--both sets of these Tim Holt westerns, beautifully restored by Warners, are a joy to own and enjoy. A whole new generation, or more, now have the opportunity to see and enjoy thirty of Tim Holt's so-called "B" westerns, originally released by RKO Radio Pictures. Warner Brothers has made available, from the studio's archives, 30 of his movies from the mid-1940s through 1952. Though some sixty years old, these DVD transfers look and sound GREAT! His career has, unfortunately, too often been dismissed as second rate; but, as one who grew up watching these films, Tim Holt was a hero and a role model for myself and countless other kids. Sadly, this man--a World War II hero--passed away at a young age. But he left a great legacy! --TOBY MARTIN II (aka R. C. Howe)

Great Westerns.
Haven't even watched all of these yet, but so far I am really taken in with these interesting story lines and charming characters. I love Tim Holt anyway, but this is the first I have seen of Richard Martin. I love both of them together. The picture quality is like watching my HD satellite TV; the prints are that clear and sharp. I've already bought the remaining volumes!

Old Time "B" Western Fan
These Tim Holt Movies are very good. Warner Brothers should be glad they have so many good "B" westerns. Just give us other good western hero's, like Johnny Mac Brown, Lash Larue, The Durango Kid (Charles Starret), Jimmy Wakley, Bob Steele, Stoney Brook (and company), Wild Bill Elliott, The Three Mesquiteers, Alan Lane, and Don "Red" Barry. And made them alone, like "Tim Holt" volumes, and PLEASE DO NOT CHARGE TOO MUCH, I would really like that. THANK YOU

Tim Holt Western Classics Vol 2
This set was set up with pre war movies and post war movies. It showed the versility of Tim in these stories. He, after the war he changed his costuming which followed the other cowboy images. This is a great one to own. Another RKO success.

I shall always be grateful to "Poison Dwarf" for taking the trouble to list the films on Vol 1 and to give me web/link to check titles (See his comment on my non review of Vol 1). So, I took the trouble to follow his advice and here are the titles and prod dates from the Warner site for Vol 2..SAGEBRUSH LAW (1943)(Cliff Edwards),AVENGING RIDER (1943)(Cliff Edwards), GUNS OF HATE (1948)(now all with Richard Martin, and my favourite period), INDIAN AGENT (48), BROTHERS IN THE SADDLE (49), RUSTLERS (49), STAGECOACH KID (49), MASKED RAIDERS (49) MYSTERIOUS DESPERADO (49), and RIDERS OF THE RANGE (1950). The reviews (all American) are very good and quality is supposed to be good too. I should add (to sighs of horror perhaps) I haven't seen this DVD, but I have today ordered it and will comment as soon as I can. As someone once said...Happy Trails. AND NOW..28 Oct 2011...After what seemed a very long wait (it wasn't really). The DVD.s have arrived and I am happy to report that the 2 viewed (GUNS OF HATE/INDIAN AGENT) are very good quality, and I have quickly checked the rest and they all seem on the frankly not thorough check to be very good too. In fact no probs at all. So I am confident they will allbe very watchable. Good films too. The later period which are among my favourites. So far highly recomended.
