Very informative
This is my favorite Marvel. The beginning and the subsequent development of the heroes. The combination of artists always intrigued me. One would pencil and another would ink. Very rarely would the same artist do both. Some of the combinations were brilliant some were not. Kirby, Heck and Ditko were the best. Heck was always underrated. His shadows were his trade mark. Kirby? The legend speaks for itself. Ditko was a sleeker artist and came up with great costume designs. Spider-Man, Iron Man to name a few.Lee did all the plotting. The artists came up with a visual story. The writers did the dialogue. The Marvel method. It worked brilliantly. The writing was a lot better in later years but for 1961-65 it was perfect for the times. America was conservative and the comic book industry was handcuffed by the ridiculous comics code. I was to young when these came out but make no mistake. I read the vast majority of them one way or another. If you love the Silver Age Marvels comic books then I suggest you give this a read. I learned a lot about the various writers and artists. I also learned because of these various writers and artists why certain comic books were better than others. The author comments on the characters, the stories and the people who made them happen.

Do NOT buy . I give *No Stars* .
Do NOT buy . Would give *No Stars*, but wasn't an option. Who heard of a book about Comic Books, with *NO illustrations/Comic book Covers ? ? Writing is terrible and uninteresting.
