To replace valve: - Remove your old valve by peeling the soft vinyl rimmed back of the tab latch and lifting the hard plastic on the outer edge of the valve towards the center. - If the vinyl is too hard, soften it by using a hairdryer for 15 to 20 seconds. - To install your new valve, open the replacement valve tab. - Next, fit the hinge area into the hinge support and squeeze the soft vinyl ring towards the center of the mattress opening. - Feed the vinyl through the opening of the new valve. - Once you feed the valve through the opening, make sure there are no bulges or kinks in the vinyl ring. - Slide your thumb around the inner edge to make sure it’s smooth. Again, you can use a hairdryer to make it easier. - Next, lock your replacement valve shut. You are now ready to inflate your aero bed mattress.

Quick, easy replacement valve
I have an older AeroBed that my brother gave to me. There were no directions with it, so of course, I attempt to set it up without knowing what I was doing. I had trouble with the clasp on the air release valve and found I was stronger than I thought. The clasp just snapped right off. Oops. So I order this, hoping it is the right thing, and that it fits. Fortunately for me, and the guests that I have coming next week, replacing the valve was much easier than I thought it would be. The old one pulled right off, and this one went right on (with a teeny bit of effort). I couldn't be happier!

Works GREAT!
We had to order this twice. The first one we received was already broken inside the sealed package. We purchased again and the second one worked great! Easy to install and just as good as factory one. I have known a lot of people who have broken these and I think the secret is to do a little manual deflating FIRST with the other valve, THEN do the quick release. Everyone I know who has broken this valve has broken in trying to open it when the bed is fully inflated. If you allow some air out manually from the other valve first, there is not so much pressure on the quick-release valve.

... bottom portion of the valve did not look exactly like the original
Did not say AERO on the front and the bottom portion of the valve did not look exactly like the original. But, the valve fit and works fine. Watch the instructional videos on YouTube before attempting to replace the valve. I didn't have to use a hair dryer to soften it up, but I can see how it would help.

Works like a charm on old Aerobed!!
I was a little apprehensive with buying this because I have an old Aerobed that is at least 12 years old. The valve was black and flat. But I read the reviews that it fits on all Aerobeds so I ordered it. It took 1 minute to remove the old broken valve and replace it with the new one. I am so happy that Aerobed was considerate enough to make sure their valves fit all Aerobeds! It works like a charm!

Not as discribed!!
I ordered a standard replacement plug for my Aero bed, and by the description given it should have fit my standard Areo bed. But it does not fit, not even close. I am trying to get a refund but am being told no refunds!

Check your valve model before ordering - great product - fairly easy installation
Make sure you are replacing the valve with the right size and model for your aerobed. This model valve fit both the imaginair and one touch comfort queen size model beds ( grey/white and black valves. See pictures) . Installation is easy if you just have a little patience with the black ring of pvc that holds and is the seal point of your new valve. In my case the pvc was stiff and I had to warm it up with a hair dryer on low. Can't stress enough that you must have the older style valve in your bed. Look closely at your valve before ordering this valve!

directions? they think we don't need stinking directions. A' Holes.........
actually it works fine, it is "how do you change it out" that is the problem. there are no instructions in any manor or fashion. I looked here through the comments, and found a link to u-tube. I spent 3 times as much of my time screwing arround with this as it really took to do the job. at least it worked, almost 1 hour later. :-(

Perfect replacement for my AeroBed.
I've had an AeroBed for at least 10 years without a release valve. I haven't really needed to use it so it hasn't been a big deal. However, I recently realized that I am going to need an air bed for company. Fortunately I found this one and it worked perfectly.
