I love the machine
First the positives and then a caution. I love the machine; although I just used it for the first time today. It isn't super loud like a nutri-bullet but not super quiet either. Everything fits together well and it did a great job on pulverizing my Oreos and mixing in the softened cream cheese for my truffles. I can't speak to how it does with slicing veggies and such yet. I have very slick old counters in my kitchen and the rubber feet held it in place. It didn't walk across the counter even when I wasn't holding it. It's very heavy and seems durable. I hope it proves to be over time. I do like that the lid gasket is removable for cleaning as previous Cuisinart models had problems with food getting under the gasket and staying there and getting nasty. The book also says that the parts, except for the motor housing of course, are dishwasher safe; but, then it warns that over time the extremely hot water in a dishwasher could damage the parts so I plan to hand wash. It was pretty self explanatory to assemble but I would read the instructions to make sure you get everything locked and loaded, especially if this is your first food processor.A couple words of caution: Although the machine is packaged very well and came in just the Cuisinart box, not a brown cardboard box, - the top was not taped shut even over the tab that you fold out to open it. Mine did not come open and everything was in the box but I could see it coming open for someone. Best to ask for the packaging that doesn't show what's in the box. BUT my big caution is that when I opened the box it looked like the blades were in little disposable plastic box type covers when in reality they were plastic trays. When I went to pull the blades out I thought I was grabbing plastic that covered the whole blade and severely sliced my finger and needed stitches. That may be just my mistake and no one else might have seen what I thought I saw but please be very careful as the blades are not completely protected in the packaging. The discs at least are shipped in plastic bags but if you were to grasp them wrong they would surely also cut you. Also, it does not come with storage for the blades and discs so you will need to purchase some type of storage for them.I am giving this item 5 stars in spite of the couple of issues because I believe if you can get through unpacking without getting cut and get a box for the blades, it seems that it will be very easy to use.

Excellent unit. Very much recommend
This is a very nice food processor and is a great upgrade over my near 20 year old much smaller Cuisinart. The bowl lock to motor base is very much improved over my previous unit. We do like the easy snap on work bowl lid; another improvement over the twist on type. The upsized workbowl is great and it even comes with a smaller installable work bowl for mini chopping and processing. I do like the dual sided grating disc and the adjustable slicing discs although I have not used those yet. Controls are easy to use and responsive. And I like that the S blade stays in place on its own without falling out when the workbowl is removed and emptied.I chose this unit having seen it in use on a number of TV cooking shows although they don’t push this and go to great lengths to hide the make and model. It was not hard to figure out what they were using. We have made pizza dough, salsa, and chopped a number of other vegetables. All came off as expected. There is a demo video on the Amazon site where the presenter made hummas. We tried this as well, however, the hummas produced had a bit of a light gritty texture. I am sure this is due to the blade speed that in nowhere near that of my Vitamix which makes the same hummas recipe velvet smooth. The texture is not bad at all but is noticeable. If I had never made hummas in our Vitamix, what was produced in the new Cuisinart would be just fine. All said, we are quite pleased with this upgrade.

Great choice!
I was torn between this and the kitchenaid and also I wasn't sure I needed the 12cup. I ultimately chose this one because it came with the 4 cup bowl that fits inside the 12 cup bowl. I currently have a mini cuisinart so I figured I could upgrade and replace that one at the same time. Some said they never use the smaller bowl but I already have. I made coconut butter which only called for one package of shredded coconut and the larger bowl would have been too big for that job. Also, I made pesto in the larger bowl and next time I think I'll do it the smaller bowl (see picture). I'm still experimenting with the bowls for the most part. I baked sweet potatoes to make a purée and used the smaller bowl (see picture). I should have used the larger bowl because I had about 4 cups of diced potatoes and I think it was a bit much for the little bowl. I made blueberry and banana ice cream in the larger bowl using frozen blueberries and frozen bananas and it was perfect.I am anxious to try the slicing/shredding attachments because that is one of my main reasons for upgrading my machine in the first place. I will be shredding cheese and slicing vegetables but haven't had a need to do that yet. I'll be updating my review once I've tried those out.So far I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. I thought I'd need more than three buttons but I don't. Having only on, off, and pulse makes it pretty simple and I don't feel like I'm missing anything. Also, this machine fit perfectly on my countertop under my cabinets (18" from countertop to light). We have under cabinet mounted lights and it's no where near touching them (see picture). I expected after reading other reviews that it might be a tight fit so I was pleasantly surprised when it slid right under my cabinets. I haven't yet decided if I'm going to leave it on the counter or store it away. I don't find it too heavy to store away and take out when needed but it's sturdy enough that it doesn't vibrate across the counter when in use. Like I said I made coconut butter which processed for 15 minutes and I just turned it on and walked away while it did it's job.I think some of the reviews listed are for a different model so I want to be sure to include that my review is for the 12 cup Elite. It did not come with a case for attachments. That is sold separately and I will be purchasing that so I can keep everything together as this does come with several attachments.
