First Day Read Aloud
Great book for first day or week of school. Kids enjoy that the teacher needs to get ready for school too.

A must have for all parents and elementary teachers before school starts back!
I couldn't wait for the release of this book.Falling in line with the how-to style Jean Reagan is so famous for, this one will be another winner. It is so adorable. As a teacher, I know that the students aren't the only ones nervous about going to school, remembering all of the rules, or knowing exactly where everything is at. Teachers can be also. With that said, this is an adorable picture book that beautifully describes how the students care for their teacher and let her in on the tips of how to manage in such a scary environment. The concept is priceless. My favorite line in this marvelous book was during science as the students watched a caterpillar turn into a butterfly, "How sometimes, magic happens very slowly." It is a perfect metaphor for the transition the children are creating as they care for their teacher.I believe most customers will think this is a must buy for only teachers to be read in school, but I see this book as a MUST BUY for parents to read to their little ones the night before the first day of school. It will demonstrate to their little ones what an important job they have, to help their teacher.Plus, teachers, this book would be a wonderful springboard for some awesome questions of how students know how to live a happy life within a school environment.Kudos to Lee Wildish for such a beautiful book whose illustrations would charm any student or parent, teacher, or librarian like me.Another hit for Reagan.

Really cute, no negative associations
I had to order and read a couple of kindergarten books before finding this one. I just wanted a book that didn’t harp on the fact that kids are nervous or worried about going to school. My son was of course a little nervous to start kindergarten but not overly concerned so I did not want to bring home a book that focused on that. This book was cute, it shows that teachers get nervous too and it makes them really come across as a real person (as they obviously are) but shows young kids they are not someone to be intimated by or worried about meeting. I think this helped my son, he’s loving school.

Teacher loved!
Got this for a x-mad gift for my daughters PK teacher. She said she had heard of the series, but not this particular one. My daughter is ESE, and her teacher and I go back and forth with sarcastic banter. And since my daughter takes charge sometimes in her class I thought this book was fitting. We love our Mrs. Jane!

my daughter loves it
We saw this book in a bookstore and after reading it, my 6-year-old daughter wanted it on her wish list. She's read it many times and considers it a favorite. Only thing I didn't like was she was easily able to rip the pages while turning them, but with normal wear and tear (she's a bit of a fidgeter) it probably holds up OK.

Super Funny
I read this to my third grade class last week and now we have been obsessed with reading all the Jean Reagan books. It's so fun to notice characters from the other stories. My students LOVED this book (and the others) because they share a story that is opposite of normal. Normally it is the teacher who gets the students ready for the beginning of the year, picture day, and everything else, but Jean Reagan flips perspectives and makes it so much more interesting. We can't wait to finish reading them all!

Another perfect book
I bought this for my daughter who is a kindergarten teacher. She can’t wait to read this to the kids. The kids will believe that the teacher is experiencing the exact feelings the kids are having about starting school

The best 'getting ready for school' book I've seen
A fabulous book for children starting school this September, and could equally apply to starting pre-school or nursery. Its genius idea is to flip the concept of being nervous at starting school on its head, and put the child in control, getting them to explore how they can help get the teacher ready for school. It works brilliantly and my 4 and 7 year old children thought it was great.
